Ok so one question is that we know that Necrons were supposedly never seen in the 30k, but I have one question in which could this be possible?
The imperium could have encountered the Necrons but never recognised them as a unified force by only engaging them at very occasional moments and they may have not been at full strength allowing the imperial force to crush the Necron resistance in turn never receiving any records in the imperial archives as they were not as established as that much of a threat seeing them as more of some random robotic security force of a race from a bygone era than what they know of now?
Just a thought, but could this have been possible?
Cheers to all comments

There would certainly be some active back then, iirc. Whilst most of the Tomb Worlds were asleep, it isn't impossible that some Worlds woke ahead of schedule. Also, the Triarch Praetorians never slept either iirc; supposedly they didn't go into hibernation and patrolled around, making sure TW are safe. Not sure if this was retconned, but I believe Ferrus Manus once fought a Canoptek construct. That's how he got his hands; they were infected with Living Metal.

Yes, it could certainly happen. The Necron Codex says that some Tomb Worlds awakened in time to see the Great Crusade sweep across the galaxy, the Traitor's Gate battle report's fluff also has Trazyn saying that he is an old friend of Guilliman's.
Also as CthuluIsSpy has already said the Triarch Praetorians never went to sleep, so they'd definitely be around somewhere, and I'd think they would be quite active since they would have just witnessed the total collapse of the Eldar Empire.

I would be inclined to believe this, but having read that book, not too sure. Their behavior seems more along the lines of insects, not constructs of Necron origin, and the tall tree structures obscuring the sky aren't described like a Necron structure would.

Entirely possible, records from that era are sketchy and most likely hundreds if not thousands of populations and races were exterminated or brought under the Imperiums umbrella.
Encounters with the Necrons could have been on a small scale, or recorded and lost or decreed too sensitive to allow knowledge to spread.
I wonder how the 30k Crusade would have faired VS the Crons of today and their numbers/power.

Well, we know that the Emperor was trying to build a forced gateway to the webway. Where did he obtain such knowledge?
This is a technology the Necrons are already have in their possession. The emperor has also fought the void dragon, a necron C'tan. Maybe he obtained knowledge of webway gateways by stealing it from the Necrons. It would make for a great conspiracy.

The emperor wasn't building one, he was restoring it.
I suspect that Earth had a Dolmen Gate on it, and that's what lays under the Golden Throne. I also suspect that the reason that Necrons are "space egyptians" is because ancient Egypt was a triarch culture - a bit of post-hoc justification there, heh.
The Void Dragon wouldn't have been hanging around on Mars (or Earth for that matter) for no reason, after all, so it makes sense that one of those planets was once a Necron colony. Maybe not a Tomb World by the end of the War in Heaven, but it would make sense, given that the Triarch Praetorians roam the galaxy and teach young species how to act properly, imparting Necron culture to them.

no. just no. the mega-arachnid were NOT necrons. no. on multiple occasions they are described as having blood, and lucuis takes a PEICE of one, you are not allowed to take pieces of necron. also, source of that triarch praetorian thing in the above post?

Necron codex.
It doesn't specifically mention earth, but it does state that instead of going into stasis, they travelled the galaxy.
Here, page 38.
Yet they knew there was a good chance that the untested stasis technology would fail, and that their sleeping kin would never wake. So it was that the Triarch Praetorians came ot travel widely throughought the galaxy, masquerading as grim-visaged gods on countless prtimitive worlds. They brought the codes of the Necrontyr to credulous primitives, reshaping cultures according to their own ideals. Few civilisations wholly embraced the Triarch Praetorians' teachings; many more were exterminated by wars, natural disaster or the vengeful outriders of Alaitoc Craftworld, who were ever determined to see the Triarch PRaetorians fail in their mission. Nonetheless, fragments of Triarch lore and archeotech survive on worlds not trod upon by Necrons in many thousands of years.

So...Necrons are Goa'uld now.
That's actually pretty awesome.
I always liked that old conspiracy theory. ^^
It would certainly explain why the necrons now have Death Gliders

I reckon they use some of that nifty Necron technology to appear to selected 'priests' and 'prophets', either invisibly to everyone else or in their dreams, and teach them that way. Probably a long-term investment. It's implied that they patrol the galaxy, so they may stay a few days, do some teaching, move on to the next world, then visit again and do it again the next year.

You should look up the Digganob fluff as well, Shroud.
They were the human faction in Gorkamorka, the Ork skirmish game. They lived under the pyramids, and when the Orks tried to root them out, the orkish crews were slaughtered by strange, metal monsters and flashes of green light.
