Hey fellow hobbyists,

Just had a quick question regarding the models in the new Tyranid Swarm box set. Basically, are any of the models new models or are they old ones? Thanks everyone!

I don't think there are any new Termagants, Hormagaunts, Gargoyles or Carnies.

Thanks for the reply. I wasn't sure as it looked like they were repackaging the both types of gaunts when you bought them separately. I wasn't sure if that was just packaging or new stuff since the amount of models also changed.

They are all the 'old' models assuming you mean are they new models in the tyranid line following the dex release for 6e. I have the box and with the discount I got on it, it is awesome value.

Thanks for the confirmation! I've been considering getting it. I've not gotten into 40k but a lot of my friends play and Tyranid is my favorite race. Do any of you know whether this is going to be a limited time only box? It looks like this is the replacement box the battleforce or whatnot?

While we know nothing and can say anything for sure, I would say this is the replacement. GW didn't say it was limited like they did with Dark Vengeance limited edition.

While it could come off the shelves tomorrow (since when does GW give Carnifex and Gargoyles for free) I think it will stick around for some time.

They're just repackaging old sprues as far as I'm aware. Gaunts and Gants were on sprues of 4 each, so the box has 10 sprues of Termies and 10 sprues of Hormies. Gargoyles are 3 separate sprues, 1 making 4 gargoyles, another making a different 4 and then another making 2 which has the weapons on it.
