So I want to branch out a bit from my kazak lists. I really like the look of the Caledonian Highlander minis, so I whipped these two lists up. The second one has an additional order, and I was thinking about trying out a link team of the Scots Guards. Anyone with a little more experience with the sectorial have any thoughts? Which one do people like better?

The Mormaers are just terrifying HI.Their sculpts are cool and they can be excellent hammer units. Glad to see them getting play.

Not to mention having one be your LT to chill in the back and be a royal pain to get to and promptly murder.

I like the first one because of the SAS. They are good units, sneaky and dangerous, and I have a massive love affair with the violent utility of Boarding Shotguns.

And of course the Cateran. I get dropped by those guys so much... Climbing Plus is an excellent ability, especially in a Camo Sniper that pulps infantry units effortlessly. Great unit to field.

I haven't had a chance to play with the Scots yet, so it looks like you'll run em' in a link team and go to town. That is a LOT of SMG's, but the fact that they could ALSO all ARO with a barrage of DErPs at close range is dangerous and fun.

I would be nervous playing against either of those forces, so you must be doing something right.

But Mormaers need to beware the Lasiq

Both lists look like fun. I have seen the Scot's guard 2nd battalion 2xSMG in action. A nasty unit.

At 300 points though, the first list may be a bit order deficient.

But yeah, Red makes a good point, for as badass as the Mormaers are, they have nothing to protect them from Viral Weapons. A while ago, it wasn't so big of a deal, as the only people with Viral Weaponry were Haqqislam (Lasiqs, Al-Djabal), the Loup Garous, and I think one or two Nomad/CA troops. But now the Tohaa are around and they loooove the stuff. Still, most of the times on the table, unless you're fighting a large number of Tohaa players, you're gonna be alright.

And at least they can't hack you!

Right, obviously things like loups and lasiqs with viral weapons would be high priority targets for me. I really couldn't think of anywhere else to put my LT though. The SAS LT costs me two SWC, and I don't fancy the Scots Guard one because 1) I don't want him in a link team, and 2) he doesn't come with camo. I suppose there is also the Highlander Grey's LT for 30 points, but the Mormaer just looks so badass.

With some further thinking, I am not so sure about link teams, and I think I like the first list more. Just worried about losing that extra order, so I tweaked it a bit. Lost a missile laucher and the T2 rifle Mormaer, but gains the extra order, more camo, and a lot of boarding shotguns. Hopefully can destroy their order pool with these guys.

Both lists are good! I'd put both of them on the table and give em' a shot.

With the four scots running in a Link Team you have a good group to hunt people down and make them very unhappy. And of course, Ariadna's penchant for a ridiculous amount of camo.
