This is my list for any upcoming games I may have against Tau. My plan was to simply out range the majority of Tau Units by being about 36"-48" away with my heavy support choices. I'd begin by focusing fire on any and all markerlights, then the rest would be easy pickings. The tau players at my local club typically field a lot of riptides, and the non-broadside suits, all supported by plenty of Firewarriors and the occasional kroot with SR.

HQ:
1 chaos Lord (Warlord)- Mark of Nurgle- 80 pts
1 Be'Lakor- 350 pts
1 CCS- 50 pts

Troop Choice:
5 Plague Marines- 120 pts
5 Plague Marines- 120 pts
5 Plague Marines- 120 pts
10 Veterans- 70 pts

Fast Attack:
2 Chaos Spawn- MoN- 72 pts
3 Chaos Bikers- MoN- 93 pts

Heavy Support:
1 LR Eradicator- heavy bolter sponsons, camo netting- 200 pts
2 Obliterators- MoN, Veterans of the Long War- 167 pts
2 Obliterators- MoN, Veterans of the Long War- 167 pts
1 Land Raider (Plague Marines + Chaos Lord)- 230 pts

Dedicated Transports:
Rhino (Plague Marines)- Havoc Launcher- 47
Rhino (Plague Marines)- havoc launcher- 47
Chimera (Veterans)- 55

what's the strat - deep striking the oblits?
I think oblits are daemons or fearless aren't they- if so VotLW isn't as valuable vs Tau. I might separate the spawn into separate units.

Post results if you can, Im looking for ways to beat a double riptide Taudar list.

With the Obliterators specifically, I was going to plop them down and cover, and try to use them to eliminate enemy support units followed by my opponent's plethora of FWs and suits. I was thinking of possibly dropping the fast attacks so that I could pick up an ADL and pick up some plasmas or meltas for the PMs.

As for VotLW, the oblits are not fearless, and being Desmond only grants them fear and an invuln save. Therefore the upgrade brings their crappy leadership up from an 8 to a 9

Anyone have any thoughts? Especially on if my setup would be able to cripple/withstand tau? Changes I should make?
