Hey I previously did my bakunin / inhuman list and am wanting to gather another group. It can be bakunin again but I'm not sure where to start.
I'm still to yet actually play a proper game of infinity, which kind of sucks but I want to get a series of miniatures professionally done because I love them however I also want to set up something thats fairly competitive.
There isn't really a points limit but I probably shouldn't go over the top as I want it to be usable but would rather limit it model wise to a 10 model unit with a larger mech or two.

Now the hard part... The setup that I want is a girly group. I'm not a big fan of the overly armored or static miniatures that there are some of in the ranges and want my group to be as feminine as possible even if that means
getting female miniatures from sets eg. Moderator 1 from a set, ditching the moderator 2 that comes with it and going for a different set for another female moderator. It's also going to probably wind up looking very 'soda pop' but that
depends what I wind up going with.

I quite like the Aleph, though the facial ridges and markings which make them look a little expressionless and such I don't know how deep they are and if you can paint around it to make them look... more normal?
I am fairly okay with the idea of setting up another Bakunin / nomad force that is more competitive / functional though.

I'm really bad at team building and while a starting group would be better to learn the game in I would rather obtain something that I can 'grow' into and come to understand and use at the level its supposed to be used at as oppose to getting
a bunch of starting miniatures, then discarding them for ones I prefer the look of & or are generally better/stronger/have more synergy.

A tall order I know but I'm having a real problem deciding with all of the above in mind @.@

While it still is Bakunin, Lady of the Knife would fulfill your desires pretty good

Moira link team, maybe Kusangi but not mandatory
Custodier and a SinEater (the only male in the list)
Uberfallen and 2 Murlocs
GML and a Meteor
Probably 2 Marker Moderators to round out the list

I am not sure how many points is that but it is

6+ = 6/36 | Reroll 1s = 7/36 | Reroll Misses = 11/36 ||||||| 5+ = 12/36 | Reroll 1s 14/36 | Reroll Misses = 20/36 ||||||| 4+ = 18/36 | Reroll 1s 21/36 | Reroll Misses = 27/36
3+ = 24/36 | Reroll 1s 28/36 | Reroll Misses = 32/36 ||||||| 2+ = 30/36 | Reroll 1s 35/36 ||||||| Highest of 2d6 = 4.47

Uberfallen is the chimera?
I like the selection of models so far. i might be able to improvise something for the sin eater, or just leave him.

Not sure, but what is the GML and a meteor?

xD I feel so dumb for asking.

GML Is a Guided Missile Launcher.

The Meteor is that one drone that the Nomads have that flies, looks like a weird UFO thingy.

GML + Nomad Hackers with Repeaters = Missile Hell.

Its a very common tactic used by Nomad players, and can result in a lot of ragegames if the Nomad player knows how to use it right. I don't think it is OP or anything, but others might disagree. There is a solution to everything after all.

I don't think the list above has a hacker though.
I assume you would have to bring multiple to induce the rage your talking about?

So running 1 would be okay?

Also I think its the vertigo zond? The meteor doesn't have a GML I don't think.

Ah, yeah... the Meteor is the flying Zond/Drone/whatever, but it only comes with a Combi Rifle.

He said GML and a Meteor. I just put the two together.

The Vertigo is the one with the GML.

But the Meteor does get you a repeater and a Forward Observer for causing more havoc with the GML.

ALL of the Reverend Custodiers are Hackers, and come with a Hacking Device Plus, which allows them to hack through repeaters and mark targets for the GMLs that are outside of their line of sight.

So you can, quite literally, drop a repeater on the other side of a wall to a building a model is hiding in. Hack to target the model in the building, and then spend an order to launch a Guided Missile, which will then fly through a window/door/crack in the wall to explode in said target's face.

Did I mention you fire Repeaters like Light Grenade Launchers?

I'm still open to other factions, though I do think the nomads have the most 'soda pop'-like miniatures for a girly/girlpower/fanservice force.I do like the lizard as well.

That said Aleph and yujing have my interest kinda perked as well.

ALEPH has a bunch of good models, and it is a very low-model-count force. They also don't mind flaunting what they got... even their four armed TAG has breasts and high heels.

I love their Asura models, and the Posthuman miniatures are wild as well. There was a guy over on the Infinity Official Forums who was doing an H.R. Geiger inspired ALEPH force.

It definitely hit the mark. Also absolutely excellent painting.

The list works. Do the Pupniks count towards your model count limit in a list? I was pretty sure they were like remotes and didn't take up slots, but if the armybuilder let you do it then I guess you're alright.

Pups don't count, they are like remotes for 1pt each.

I'm curious are there any particular theme to setting up an Aleph list (as I'd like to run through my options) similar to how the nomads make use of the GML repeater hacking stuff.

Fav 3 aleph models I like.

I like most of the proxy's

The way the face on this one and some like it makes me unsure of this one

If the face could come out more 'poppy' and normal looking I would like this one more, same goes for a few others as well.

I do love this also xD

It's a shame they have no bootleg miniature to try and squeeze in too that would have been quite fun.

The Maruts are so cool. I have one... just sitting there, primed, waiting to be painted.

I don't even have an ALEPH force!

...though I guess since I have a Marut I have 1/3 of an army.

The only ALEPH theme so far is the Greek Sectorial. Though I believe there will be an Indian/Hindu themed one as well in the next book.

Personally I prefer the non-Greek stuff. I think the Nagas and Asuras and the like are good models, and have excellent stats. The Greeks just seem like HERO MODE ENGAGE and that sorta drives me nuts.

When in doubt though, go with what looks cool to you.

Well I was wondering if there were any specific tactics for Aleph I could make use of, like the GML for nomads, something that might help me before I dive in picking minis.

Once you are familiar with the mechanics, you'll find that a lot of the 'tricks' overlap. Everybody has AD Troops. Everyone has Hackers and Remotes.

With the exception of Ariadna, which is a little 'special.'

None of the factions have any 'tactic' that can be played better than others. They might have a hard-hitting unit or some type, but there are usually a ton of hard-hitting units in every faction to choose from. The tactics of play basically boil down to how well you understand the rules, and how well you know your forces.

That Nomad trick with the GML? It is cool, but it is just a trick. It doesn't win games. If the player drops the GML, the one trick pony is gone. And there is a certain amount of luck to using things that drop Repeaters/Markers.

Factions in Infinity don't tend to be like Blood Angels and Imperial Fists. You won't see some guys who are the designated Close Combat monsters and that is your faction. Everybody has something that is badass at something, be it an amazing marksman unit, a close combat badass, or some slick unit with some fun special rules.

And of course, bigass robots. (Sorry Ariadna, but hey, you get werewolves).

This is why I keep saying, "Pick the models you think are cool, don't try and build a list around a theme'd tactic. That just gets you very dead. Get some games in, or read/watch other people's battle reports, and you can sort of get a feel for what you want in a force.

Flexibility is the game winner in Infinity. But also sound tactics (I know right!) and good positioning.
