Yes but you dont gain the extra FOC slots that normal allies bring.

You just use the allied chapter tactics rule from the space marine codex.

No, you cannot ally Clan Raukaan with Iron Hands, as they both use the same chapter tactics. According to the space marine book they can only ally with a different chapter tactic.

This, but tournaments don't seem to be reading the rules. We've had a biker list using iron hands and raukaan.

Bottom left hand side of page 77 in the codex states that "A Space Marine detachment chosen from this codex that has one set of Chapter Tactics may ally with another Space Marine detachment chosen from this codex that has a different set of Chapter Tactics (UM and Raven Guard, for example)."

Supplements draw from their primary books, and the Raukaan uses the Iron Hands chapter tactics, so you may not ally in a separate detachment of Iron Hands, as they have the same chapter tactics.

Top right, pg 77, under heading of "Allies... you may field models from two chapters if they share Chapter tactics." (paraphrasing) So... Do Raukan give up standard Iron Hands tactics? If not I think you can as long as you call the Allied detachment "Brazen Claws" (for example) and only use the Chapter tactics from the SM dex for them?

Ah ok, my friend has been playing it wrong. He's been using a SETH Biker Commander from IH attached to a GCTH Biker Commander from CR in a Command Squad unit with an Apothecary and Librarian. Won't change too much though, I think he'll just change the IH to White Scars.

No, that part is used to ally together DIFFERENT chapter tactics. You cannot ally the same chapter tactic. What you are referencing is how Pedro and Lysander have the same chapter tactic, therefore can be used inside the same FOC, even though according to fluff they are part of different chapters. The original question was in reference to allies with the same chapter tactic, which you cannot do at all for any reason as you do not have the allowance to do so from the rules like chapters with different chapter tactics do.

Though it seems to have been answered, I'd like to add that in the Clan Raukaan supplement, just before the additional rules it presents, it does clearly state

A Clan Raukaan detachment is chosen using the army list presented in Codex: Space Marines. It also has a series of supplemental rules (presented below) that must be used in addition to the material found in Codex: Space Marines. When choosing a Clan Raukaan detachment, you may only use the Iron Hands Chapter Tactics.

Emphasis mine.
Unless the physical copy of the supplement says otherwise (I can check on Thursday or Saturday) then you cannot ally Clan Raukaan with Iron Hands as they use the same Chapter Tactics.

Clarifying all this.

The top of page 77, second column is referring to two chapters with the same chapter tactics in the SAME detachment.

It is really more about having your army painted in 2 different colours.

What you absolutely cannot do is ALLY 2 chapters with the same chapter tactics.

In short your primary detachment can be Imperial fists and Crimson Fists, using the Imperial fists chapter tactics an including both Lysander and Pedro as your HQs; but then if your Allies are also from the space Marine codex they CANNOT be a chapter with Imperial fists CT(any other chapter tactics are ok).
