Hi Chaps. I decided to give Necrons a try so drafted this 1500 list. Just looking for something that is generally effective and fairly easy to use for a new comer to the army.

I ran this past a friend who seems to think I would struggle against TEQs and flyers, however he has not had a lot of experience playing against Necrons so unsure if he has a point (IE. on paper, he thinks annihilation barges are a waste of points). Does he have a point?

At one point i was considering deathmarks over the wraiths, not sure if I made the right decision.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

your friend has obviously had his brain microwaved: annihilation barges are probably the best 90 points in the game. 4 tl s7 shots that add an extra 2 hits for every 6. they are 1 of the best antiflyer units in the game.

I played a similar list at a tournament yesterday al be it it was at 1950 but still the same core units. those command barges were trolling me all game. the triarch stalker used the 2 shot multimelta gun and its very good as a supporting vehicle.

try and get cryptecs in the arcs with those lance weapons they synergise well with the stalker.

Solid list, and you'll be fine against Flyers even.

I'd drop the Whip Coils, they're not going to do much, and a Warscythe and Semp Weave for that Lord, will make that block on the ground even harder to take down. As mentioned, 2 Crypteks will also give you some flexibility.

TEQs are an issue for Necrons in general, but there aren't many that you won't be able to deal with this sheer weight of numbers you're bringing.

Hi Guys, thanks for your suggestions. I rearranged my list a few ways to incorporate both your suggestions and a couple other things I've seen floating around the forums. Please let me know if you think this is an improvement or not:

It looks good. I'm personally not a fan of the Triarch Stalker, you may get more mileage out of putting those DeathMarks in a NightScythe.

If you did that you could save yourself some points maybe enough to buy a Aegis Defense Line, w/ Quad. Res Lord good luck digging that out.

I wanna keep the Triarch Stalker however you make a good point regarding the Deathmarks in a NightScythe.

I removed one of the warrior blobs to gain the points for a Night Scythe and with the left over points I bumped the remaining blob up to 20 and put in a 3rd annihilation barge.

Think that will do the trick?
