So I was reading through the white dwarfs and saw that they had answered that all of the weapons that worked on vehicles also worked on fortifications. While not raw, does the fact that is is from a official publication count for most of the players out there? Interested in hearing your responses.

In addition can we take descriptions of the rules as a sign of intent? For example they describe the knights easily jumping from cover to cover in the rules designing process. On a side note it was fun to read about the rules process involved in the knight, really liking the new white dwarf. Might have to start checking out visions.

I don't have much experience with them, but don't they include battle-reports and other things which clearly ignore Rules as Written in favor of 'Better Narrative?'

8th made it so I can no longer sway Tau onto the side of Chaos, but they will eventually turn aside from their idea of the Greater Good to embrace the Greatest of pleasures.

Not really but that is a separate section from what I am talking about.

Sadly I know which WD you are talking about and while a Dev did make a statement regarding Fortification and what rules affected them, it is still not in the FAQ, So here is hoping that they update soon.

is the article labelled as an FAQ? question answered.

While it may be used as evidence to support a Rules as Intended argument, White Dwarf are notorious for playing rules incorrectly, often deliberately.

I have a peanut allergy. It's really inconsiderate.

"Long ago in a distant land, I, M'kar, the shape-shifting Master of Chaos, unleashed an unspeakable evil! But a foolish Grey Knight warrior wielding a magic sword stepped forth to oppose me. Before the final blow was struck, I tore open a portal in space and flung him into the Warp, where my evil is law! Now the fool seeks to return to real-space, and undo the evil that is Chaos!"

This was not in the playing rules section. This was a reader writing in a question and them answering. It was not during a battle report or anything like that

White dwarf 6 for anyone wondering.

I would say yes if directly answering a posed question rather than description of a rule during a tactics Rule gaming article.

That's what happened - sadly they have not answered any other useful questions that I recall............

they used to publish complete supplemental rules in White Dwarf (Eldar Nightspinner rules were originally distributed this way), it is an official publication from the makers of the game. If they answered a question from a reader in there then I would say it should count as an official answer.
