I've been playing a lot of Xwing and I'm slowly running out of ideas. Our local group has solidified and lists are becoming fairly static. Lots of Han shot first, TIE swarms and B Wing love. This isn't bad but I want to use things in more interesting ways. We're playing tonight and I want to shake things up a bit beyond using missions. We play at standard 100 points and I have at least 4 of every ship pack released, so no limitations really. Anyone got any ideas? I'm toying with a YT and 4 A Wings.

For some reason...I like 4 Y-Wings. I think it just speaks traditional old school rebel formation...maybe I get this feeling from all of the old DOS based X-Wing and Tie Fighter games I use to play.

I really only see the Blaster Turret giving the Y-Wings some sustainable punch as the formation lumbers about.

I like the falcon with dual y's with ion turrets. Never give a damn which way you are facing!

SHUTTLE SPAM.

3x shuttle with advanced sensors and engine upgrade. Spend the last 16 points on appropriate upgrades or character shuttles, or an escort TIE if you want to be really boring. Nobody expects shuttles to be that fast or maneuverable, and it will be a fun piloting challenge for you. Expect to lose a lot while you figure out how to fly them, but it's hilarious when you out-run B-wings and beat them in a turning dogfight.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Ended up going with 3 lists I tried out. I really struggle with Imperial lists atm so I tried four Tie Advanced with missiles which was fun and unexpected. I then tried an XXBYY list, which I found out doesn't shake things up at all and did well at World's. I tried my 4 A Wings and a YT which is surprisingly resilient. Might try souped up shuttles next.
