hmmmm, thought that was the case. Thanks for the clairfication.
Makes you wonder why you would put a herald on it? yes you can fly but whats the point when you are effectively making him an easier target.

only against cannons though, I guess you can use him as a mobile magic missile battery that flies over units and hits them in the movement phase too

not really, he's only T4 so anything can shoot him to death. Automatically Appended Next Post: MarkyMark wrote:He could look out sir to Seekers though? assuming they are cav as well.
Unfortunately not, as daemonic characters can only join units of the same god.
ie. tzeentch herald can only join tzeentch units etc.

He's a BSB with a 20" move on it. And the ability to cast. And the ability to ignore terrain. And it makes him T4.

But the herald could hang out within 3" of those seekers and enjoy a 4+ LOS! roll. Which I suppose is something.
Originally I was all about disc heralds, because it was a cheap way to gain mobility + T4 ... however that quickly wore off when I realized that few of their spells (Metal or Tizz) needed the extra maneuverability, and as comforting as T4 is vs T3, the disc just got them deaded faster (usually vs 5 arrow shots or something horrible). IF the heralds had reliable access to shooting abilities (the breath weapon from the lesser chart, the flames from the last book) then the disc might be a thing

Thats basically my view on it.
All sounds good until you get shot up and realise you spent 150-250 points depending on other gear/wizard levels on a T4 guy with a bullseye on his chest (assuming heralds of Tzeentch have chests)

He is still T3. He is riding a Warbeast not a Monstrous Beast. That makes him a Cavalry model. The highest toughness only goes to Monstrous Cavalry.
