Having played necrons for a while, I'd love to love to put together a magic themed, low model count army. So Tseentch flying circus. 2k list. Advice greatly appreciated!

Fateweaver
LoC (ML3, Exalted, Greater)

9 Flamers

10 Horrors
10 Horrors

D Prince (Tzeentch, Flight, Armour, ML 3, Exalted Gift, Greater Gift)
D Prince (Tzeentch, Flight, Armour, ML 3, Greater Gift)
D Prince (Tzeentch, Flight, Armour, ML 3, Greater Gift)

So. Have I armed my DPs properly? What tables should I roll my psychic powers on? Who should I give the grimoire to and who should I give the ports glyph to and why?

You want exalted on most of your MC. you roll for each to try for riftbringer and then after that one of them can take portal glyph the other can take grimoire and the final one can have what they want. The downfall to this army is it has no troops so the portal glyph and riftbringer are ways to get those without having to aggresive roll on the table for double 6's. If your doing flamers run MSU instead of one big unit. They are suicide drops and honestly not worth the points imho. Either drop them and buff out your pink horrors to ML 2 levels or get another squad of horrors.

Lesser gifts on tzeentch daemons is also really good for the +2 str exploding staff. Makes DP str 8 without having iron arm or smash.

3 x flamers
3 x flamers

11 x horrors and sarge
11 x horrors and sarge

DP (Tzeentch, exalted, lesser, wings, armour, ml3)
DP (Tzeentch, exalted, lesser, wings, armour, ml3)
DP (Tzeentch, exalted, lesser, wings, armour, ml3)

It's a 2k list. Part of me wants more flamers for dealing with hordes...

My list for 1850 is this:

Fateweaver
LoC - 2x greater, 1x lesser(staff), ML3

Horrors x10
Horrors x10

Tzeentch DP - all upgrades - Grimoire + greater
Tzeentch DP - all upgrades - Portal + greater
Tzeentch DP - all upgrades - 2x greater, 1 x lesser

Hordes are really not an issue. You have so much flickering fire that you can whittle away any blob.
Most lying circus lists look similar to this. Alternatives include taking a Slaanesh lash DP, A nurgle DP with balesword, or allying CSM to get be'lakor as a non-warlord option + heldrake.

I don't care much for flamers. Flying circus is about denying the opposition good targets to shoot at. Playing flamers just means they will be one of the few things visible.

A tzeentch DP almost always carries the grimoire, as he is more durable than DP's of other gods, and the LoC really needs those greater rewards.

You only want 2 exalted rewards per army, these are for the gimoire and the portal. Greater rewards are better than the other exalted choices by far.

Leave the incandescent horrors out. They cause the unit to fire from only that one model, and you really don't need the protection from a bad roll on the warpstorm table, as you have fateweaver.

How do they normally fire? From the whole unit?

What about Riftbringer? Seems v good.

You normally designate one model who the spell will be firing through.

Riftbringer has 2 problems. Number 1 is that you will never cause 6 wounds in cc. With less than 6 wounds caused you will be getting a new unit less than half of the time. A greater reward which boost survivability will always be in effect.
Problem 2 is that it requires you to be in cc. With flying circus you really don't want to be in cc until the last 2 turns or so, to grab objectives or get the warlord perhaps. Landing before then is a good way to expose your FMCs to the opponents full shooting phase.

Survivability is everything with the flying circus, keeping those FMC alive will win you games, and greater rewards help achieve this.

So a whole unit of horrors can FF from inside a bastion then? Excellent.
