TANKS READY. I've been rebuilding my Noise Marine army (P&M blog at http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/426461.page) and finished the first batch - two Rhinos and two Predators, converted from Ramshackle Iron Grumbler models, various CSM accessories and some old 2ed Predator metal parts.

I wanted to speed up how I paint armies and limit the amount of brush-painting I have to do, so this is my first attempt at airbrushing and also my first attempt at some serious weathering (I think I might have gone overboard). These are spray painted pink, airbrush highlighted, sponge weathered, oil washed and cleaned up with white spirits, then airbrushed again for the highlights and smoke stacks.

I also hid magnets at the rear of each hull, and made some Havoc Launchers and Dirge Casters to fit them

For your first attempt, or any attempt, you did a very good job.

Those are awesome, Ian. Although, I think that rocket pod is a little too cartoony/orkish.

Pretty nice, although the weathering is very heavy. The decals really stick out though as they're pretty much untouched while the rest of the tank is falling to bits.

great job far better then i could do, i do have to agree with tyrannosaurus tho, the decals look untouched and uneffected by the weathering giving them a out of place look

All that weathering looks fantastic. Might want to add more black to the model to break that pink up, though.

These look really great! I dont think you can ever have too much weathering. The more you do, the more abused the vehicle looks. I imagine the vehicles have been campaigning on an acidic world during a monsoon season!

Thanks, guys. I might tone down the weathering when it comes to the regular troops!

Good point - I hadn't noticed this, but you're right. When I'm doing the next batch of troops I'll put a bit of chipping and a dirty wash on the decals...

Thanks - yes, it's a bit silly, but I was going with a strict 'make it out of whatever bits I had' policy on these. The Iron Grumblers themselves were bought five years ago for very cheap, and I'd been meaning to just tun them into a bits box creation for ages...
