Welcome! Introductions first, my name is Shamikebab (well Dan IRL) and I got back into the miniature gaming scene a few years ago after a decade or so out. I don't collect any armies and play very rarely (over Vassal) but I love collecting models that interest me and painting them to my own meagre standard. I've found recently that I've got into a bad habit of never actually finishing anything and not sharing pictures until anything is actually finished (a terrible combo) I've only actually shared pictures of my Incubi squad on here (which you can see in my gallery) SO! It's about time that changed! A blog will hopefully encourage me to paint more and gain feedback and advice from the hordes of talented painters on here.
Heroes of The Imperium
When the new Space Marine codex launched I was inspired to paint up a number of different marines from various chapters using a combination of bits from the Tactical, Sternguard and Vanguard boxes as well as a host of bits from elsewhere. Naturally I planned everything out then real life got in the way and I pretty much shelved the project. I'm determined to see it through (maybe in time for 7th edition Space Marine Codex? )
First up is my White Scar, this one is not far off finished, I need to do the base and finish up some final touches here and there (jump pack in particular needs work) Halberd is from a Grey Knight.
Next up is the model I'm most proud of to date, my Sons of Orar marine. He's pretty much finished (again just those final attention to detail things like some attempt at text on the scrolls) This is my first real attempt at freehanding a chapter symbol and I think it went....ok? I'm really happy with the red on his armour and it's also my best gold to date I think.
Finally a work in progress of the current marine, a Storm Warden. Gold is very much in progress but the armour is close to done (a bit of neatening up here and there)
I'd love some feedback and suggestions on what and how I can improve
