The Velllejo Model Air Chrome is just amazing. But then everything I have from that line has been (minus the Rust).

I found that the pigments flakes were too big for my liking. I look at the silver, chrome and aluminum and they are smooth and amazing. The rust just left me unimpressed.

VMA Black and NATO Black are nice blacks to go on.
NATO Brown is also a nice shade. Earthy colours like Dirty Earth work okay, too.

Pick what colors you think you will need for your projects.
I picked up a few of there sets (google them) and are very happy with them.
Some people feel they need a bit more thinning, but that varies with the paint, the specific airbrush and your PSI.

I love the VMA metallics when I can use them. The aluminum has great coverage even with a traditional brush. Though the fumes with these paints smell wonderful...

I double that... VMA rust has much bigger pigments that the rest of the metallic in the line.

Got milk?
All I can say about painting is that VMC tastes much better than VMA... especially black...

I do like the VMA range for airbrushing. Main thing I don't like is that no local stores carry them, so I have to buy online and the colour swatches can be very deceptive. I've bought several more paints than I needed simply because I couldn't figure out what they'd look like until I'd bought them.
