Ok...this is one from the ages...

Back when I was a kid (early to mid 80's--yes, I'm old)....I remember watching Showtime.

There was an anime movie on that I watched, and totally loved....but I can't remember what it was.

There was, from what I can remember:

1) a "base" that had some kind of force-field
2) transforming-like ships/robots--if I recall correctly, each came from a different area of the base (a tunnel, the water, etc)
3) a threat from space

I know....that's not much to go on, and rather broad at the same time.

Whomever can help me conquer this challenge will earn my eternal gratitude!

And I want to say, thinking about it, that there were evil robot/gundam type villains going after the base at some point.

Thus, the base force field was raised. And I just distinctly remember that little star-effect reflecting off the forcefield when it raised.

I know...I'm nuts for even trying...but it's just bugged me for 30+ years!!

I destroy my enemies when I make them my friends.

Three!! Three successful trades! Ah ah ah!
