Hello everyone, I haven't painted a miniature since I was fifteen and having been lurking on this forum for the past couple of days..... here goes nothing.
When I used to paint (late 90's), NMM wasn't something that I remember seeing in White Dwarf so I figured I'd bite off more than I can chew and start off with it.
I've only painted the Imperial motif so it's obviously WIP but I'd love any tips, pointers or criticisms.

It looks fine, but you could probably bring out the yellows and whites a bit more. At the moment it's looking a little too brown for my tastes. Still, fantastic job for your first try, took me ages before mine looked that good

The thing is, I don't have a white at the minute so all of the highlights are Bleached Bone: Sunburst Yellow; that'll be why it's lacking some contrast!.
Cheers for the replies guys.

Most painters use NMM on flags like this alongside regular metallics.
OT: you should try to push your highlights up to near pure white.
