I'm thinking about picking up a couple of the dust tactics punisher walker/tanks to run as vindicators for my CSM. I am having trouble finding pictures of the scale or people with experience with dust models. My buddy runs their troops as his storm troopers but I have never seen the models I would really appreciate some input if anyone has any experience.
Thanks

The troops are thinner and taller than GW models. The medium and even light walkers are bigger than an IG sentinel or dreadnought. I would say the heavy walker like a Punisher would work fine scale wise as a vindicator.
That said, you should just play Dust over 40k; it's cheaper, quicker and has better rules.

haha that may be an option if I could get my friends to change over... They are firmly rooted in the GW way of life though

Amen to this... I have tried to get my friends to embrace another game than 40k by showing them warmachine. i could tell their eyes just glazed over until they saw a warjack. I had to bite my tongue when i heard the reply "oh wow this would make a cool looking dreadnought"
Some people are beyond hope.

Just have to give it time. For years and years I played nothing but 40k - that's all I was interested in. Get them to just try a game of Warmachine, Dust, whatever. Sometimes it is playing it that will win them over. For Dust, just try like a 50 point game. 30-45 minutes might be enough to see there are better written rules out there and you can play a game without having your nose buried in a codex(or three) checking some random D6 chart or special rule.
Mind you I'm not saying you can't still do 40k, but sometimes it is fun to have more games, just for variety if nothing else. Keeps things fresh.

True true, I may have to jump in on a two player box myself and hopefully pull them in kicking and screaming

Thanks for those pics. I was specifically looking for first hand impressions of dust vehicles compared to GW tanks. This gives mean decent idea

I have a punisher tank from dust, and I'd say it's quite a bit bigger than a Vindi. Closer to a Land Raider size, especially if you leave the legs on. If you took the legs off and found a way to do treads, it would still be a bit bigger than the Vindicator.

I have almost every vehicle for the SSU and all the American vehicles. I really want them to work with 40K and I think they will with a bit of work. The issue for me is the weapons - 40K weapons are big and chunky, Dust weapons are a bit more true to scale. A simple weapon swap and a few bits will go a long way to making them fit in.
As for the Punisher, (IMHO) way too big for a Vindicator. With true line of sight, I don't think you want to make your vehicles a bigger target.

Good point, thanks for the input. Are there any Dust vehicles you think make a good replacement?

That's a big walker! I didn't realize the game had models of that size.
