This is supposed to be an urban assault anti-ork mobile infantry force. Characters mentioned are home brewed special characters and are intended to be placed inside the teams that bare their names. The idea is that these units can easily fit into two Manta class crop ships. This is an assault supplement to my previous Ork warlord assassination fluff list.

I am looking for war gear suggestions especially for Pha'ro's drop team, I am very unsure as to how I want to equip this unit. Any ideas on how to bring more flavor to this unit, or the force at large are greatly appreciated.

Sounds silly but a great tactic in any mobile unit is mobility you need to get in more piranhas as orks have numerous shot so the skimmer rules and shear amount of them should keep them at bay. Also less of the standard troops and bring yet more crisis's as orks squash standard troops quick and proppa. (you should have a man in your codex that does that).

Though I DO NOT play tau and hate them very much I find these things to be the biggest gamewinner for them.

I agree with you more piranha would be awesome. I love the models, the fluff, the rules, the coast, everything about them. But sadly a manta drop ship can only carry 4 tanks or 6 piranha, so If I have 6 tanks and two manta I can only bring 3 piranha.

As for the crisis idea, I already have a crisis list http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/581856.page and it is amazing. I was looking for something different here, something more standard. Here I wish I didn't need to take the suits, because without them I could take a squad of vespid, which would make the coolest fluff addition to the list. But sadly Farsight Enclaves requires you to take crisis suits, and I can't fit both the vespid, and the other parts of the army in at cost. Besides the above crisis team fits the same role as the vespid would.

Finally crisis suits are horrible in urban terrain. Though they are the work horse of the Tau in mildly clustered terrain, in dense terrain they rip themselves apart. Because they are Jetpack Infantry they treat all difficult terrain as dangerous. A crisis team that never got shot at once for 5 turns would lose half of its number to terrain in a city.

The advice I am primarily looking for is ways to better equip the crisis team to make them serve a specific role for the army, ways to possibly condense the list down to just a Tau codex army and maintain the commander's feel as a tactical genius. and any way I can keep the feel of an armored company and still get vespid in.

I know what I want, just not how to reach it, which is why I am here crowd sourcing to you guys.

I should also not that I hope not to use any of the special issue war gear fetured in my other list. and I would ;like to keep the Piranha in two teams.

Edited the list, pretty happy with it now.
