Army style is a well rounded jack of all trades list with no specific enemy in mind. (although I normally play against Necrons, Orks, and Tyranids.

HQ
Sicarius

Elites

3 Venerable Dreadnoughts with two TL autocannons or assault cannons depending on enemy type

Troops

4 Ten Man tactical Squads with combi grav and flamer

2 Five man scout sniper squads with cloaks and rifles

Fast Attack

2 Stormtalons with Lascannons

Heavy Support

Centurion Devastator Squad

Stalker

Thunderfire Cannon

Sicarius allows a tac squad to infiltrate with scouts onto objectives, bases of fire come from Dreadnoughts, centurions, and the cannon
Anti tank firepower comes from Storm talons

Well seeing your posts you must be new as am I just a tip 10 posts is next rank.
But to get on to the post.
When I played space marines this is what I would have done.
Nice build up like the list but maybe instead of the scouts I might put a biker squad or assault squad just to get in their faster.
Otherwise nice list.

I'm bane and that's all you need to know. And the last that you will ever know.

thanks man, I like the idea that snipers get on an objective along with a tac squad and give me some action on targets turn 1, I know I lack rapid mobility, May give bikes a shot

First off welcome to Dakka, second off I'm going to assume you want your list to be competitive against any army.

HQ: Sicarius is an awful choice, at 2000 points he just costs too much for only 3 instant killable wounds. He doesn't bring his points worth most of the time to any fight, however, I run Marneus Calgar who is an even bigger point sink simply because I have a bit of a mancrush on ol' papa smurf and his boxing gloves. So I can understand why you want to run the captain.

The venerable upgrade is kind of redundant on dreadnoughts with twin-linked guns. Over the course of an entire game it may save you a few shots but at the cost of putting a ton of points on a unit that can be easily taken out by a few (common) tank hunters. They simply aren't enough shots to make back their points in a meta that is running less and less vehicles. Also with flyers the venerable upgrade's extra ballistic skill is offensively useless. I would suggest making these dreadnoughts cheaper or taking out one or two completely.

Troops: You should try your hardest to not walk tactical squads, especially if you have so many close range weapons on them (more on that later). I would suggest dropping points off somewhere for some rhinos for these guys. Don't worry about your rhinos giving up first blood either, with 4 rhinos chances are a few are going to live and zoom up the board to kill your opponent and the "they give up first blood!" argument is weak because in this game the person who goes first is almost always going to get first blood no matter what.
Combi-gravs are awful on tactical marines, when they move they can only fire salvo weapons half range and with the smaller number, so 2 grav shots at 9' one time is horrible, especially when you have to walk up the field to get your flamers in range. Run plasma instead, plasma on tactical squads is amazing.

Heavy support: everything looks good here except the centurions, what is their loadout? How do you protect them? How do you get them into range? What is their role? This is a lot of points to spend for a unit which looks like you just threw it in for fun. If you want to run centurions you need a strategy to run them, or else you might just waste another 200 points.

Sicarius is a little overpriced IMHO, but not terrible. I think I dislike him more for fluff reasons then mechanical ones.

While spamming mid strength shots might be in vogue, I find I enjoy having a few big guns in my list. Rather then TLAC, you might consider TLLC. I would no bother with the venerable upgrade on a dread packing TL weapons. Might be worth it if you are walking assault cannons across the table though.

If you are on the move, you want plasma over grav. Unless you are relentless. I will also recommend rhinos, for at least two of your squads, if not all. You have a lot of points sunk into troops for a 2k list. You might consider cutting a tac squad and/or one of the scouts. The sarge’s combi want to match the squads unless something odd is going on. And where are your heavy weapons in the tactical squads? I might forgive some less codex adherent chapter for this sort of laxness, but we are Ultramarines here, we follow the Codex. Fluff reasons aside, two of our doctrines help mitigate snap-fireing, and sometimes it’s nice to have a multimetla upfield. Also, now that movement is counted on a per-model basis, you can have the ML guy stand still and shoot while the rest of the squad swings forward.

I like skyhammers on talons, but LCs have a place. I think you pay a little too much for them, but they work.

HS is fine. What are the Cent’s packing? There are a lot of good options for them, but the naked ones are a bit pricy for TLHB and hurricanes.

I enjoy having a huge infantry base, 40 marines will be hard to stop. If i cut out venerable across the board, and the third dreadnought entirely, I could get some bigger guns for my tactical squads. swap the grav to a plasma and squads get plasma guns then too. Centurions are standard armament, for shredding concentrated infantry. they have the ability to shut down an objective from scoring units.
