According to the ruling a model must take a toughness test immediately after it suffers an unsaved wound, if it fails the model is removed with no saves of any kind allowed. The weapon is ap4 which isn't great but I predominantly play against Orcs, IG, and Nids. Anyway if a model passes the toughness test is it still removed? Assuming the model suffered 1 wound and only had 1W?
Which would make it seem that the toughness test really only matters against units with 2 or more wounds, where it essentially becomes a variant of Instant Death that can bypass Eternal Warrior right (since its not actually considered Instant Death)?

Essentially when you have suffered an unsaved wound and have only 1 wound you are dead. The toughness test doesn't need to happen for mooks as it just wastes time.

You have the measure of the use of the weapon, it does indeed bypass the EW problems.

It's not the size of the blade, it's how you use it.

As liturgies says the T test is irrelevant for 1 wound models. Though still remember everyone within 3" has to then also take a test. Also it is Ap2 if in the hands of a Daemon Prince which makes it a frightening weapon indeed.

Awesome thanks for that guys, yeah it'd be great to have on a DP. At the moment, despite how costly it is, I was thinking of having it on a Khorned Dark Apostle in a squad of about 20 Khorne cultists. It is pricey but its at least 85 attacks on the charge, re-rolling failed To Hit
