So a couple of weeks back I posted some of my models up in Painting and Modeling, now I think I have enough modeling time to do an actual P&M Blog, anyhow, here goes...



First and foremost, my company commander.



Her bodyguard, that new blood paint is quite nice when you need a little splatter, now they just need to make it in Ork and Tau



A sniper, I did this a couple of months back but he needed some touch up.



And a crusader, the latest addition to my Inquisitor's retinue, love this model, and like how she turned out.

Anyhow thats my excuse of an update, I'll try to have more posted tomorrow... (If all goes according to plan)

So we've all had a chance to see the new Ogryn/Bullgryn models and I must say that a lot of the heads are pretty goofy, but I do like the kit for a few reasons. First of all I love the fluff behind Ogryns, I like the idea of big louts lumbering into battle with over-sized shotguns and not a lot else and I like old Nork Deddog.

However the models have never really captured the feel I want with Ogryns until now, I want mine to look less like semi-sentient, barbaric thugs, but more like actual professional soldiers. I think that in a lot of GW's fluff the Ogryns are too stupid to be believable, they should be able to spell basic sentences, do basic math, understand basic tactics and most importantly, field strip a Ripper Gun. Don't get me wrong half the point of the big guys is they ain't bright but if they're as dumb as the fluff has us to believe then they would have trouble with pants, let alone a loaded gun...

For me the concept of the Ogryn is best presented by a codex picture and a model (I do not own this model, it is someone elses that I found on google to use as an example since GW doesn't seem to have it in stock anymore.)



I want my ogryns to look like this, note the lack of weird yelling faces? I also like the idea of giving the bone 'ead a extra large beret or commanders cap (a regular human one held on with duct tape of course. ) I think that some other gear would be fun as well, remember the buster sword from that Final Fantasy game? That thing would be perfect for an Ogryn and it would be easy to make from plastic sheet and rod. Also infantry back packs on their belts would be a great touch since they already use jerry cans as canteens, and not much else would hold a decent snack for a bored Ogryn.

Anyhow now I'm ranting a little, its late and I need to get a bit of sleep or else I'll not get much done tomorrow, to every one who reads this, thanks, you're all awesome

So its been a few days since my last update and since then I have finally got my camera mostly figured out, so happy, it only took six months

Anyhow, I digress, as I have mentioned a lot of times, I love Storm Troopers, now called Scions, and my favorite and most entertaining unit in my army is a five man 'suicide squad' with melta guns, all converted from regular Cadians. I like the look so much my Tempestuous Command Squad will be made the same way, and I think I'll use the same style of Hellgun for the new guys, saving the hotshots for snipers and other special characters. On the subject of Scions, my Inquisitor has a pair of bolter toting soldiers in blue uniforms that also look pretty cool, therefor I have decided to use the caps and blue color for my Tempestor and new Scions (when they arrive) to give the army a unified look.

In other news I'm working on a vet squad that is armed with shotguns and flamers for fun.

So I am taking part in The League of Extraordinary Riveters Terrain Competition (http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/583702.page) and it is taking up a lot of modeling time but I have gotten a pretty cool counts as bastion out of it and its a load of fun.

I'm also working on a female inquisitor, I'll try to have some pictures up today, she's pretty cool looking, if I say so myself

Happy Easter everybody! so I got a couple of things on the go right now, at least in the miniature world.

First of all I'm finally painting my scout sentinels, this will be the squadron leader's mount when its done.


My other painting project is my second inquisitor, effectively the apprentice of the first one, with a little more utilitarian style of clothing and equipment then her master, she's less of a leader and more of a fighter.

So yesterday my girlfriend got me a little gift, a new Astra Militum Codex, must say I'm loving it and its a lot of fun and it has just about everything I wanted from a codex!

I'll post some pics of my new scions later on in the weekend, meanwhile, enjoy the weather.

My scions got here!!! This kit is a converters dream come true, there are so many pieces, all of them very useful to anyone who models an imperial faction, the price is a little steep but I've had so much fun already and there's a lot of bits left to use.

Anyhow, heres what I have so far, 19 scions, ten from the kits, 9 (with #10 coming soon) from regular Cadians.



Next is the command squad.



Then an assault team.



And the support team.



Finally the test model for the paint scheme, all the colours are blocked in and he's ready for highlights and washes.
