I haven't been to my FLGS yet, so I don't know.

Are our FLGS not only not getting FW products at wholesale but are now limited on what items they can order?

For quite awhile now there have been many products that a FLGS simply couldn't get. Regarding FW models, I don't believe those have ever been available to buy in a store.

If there's something in particular you want, ask your FLGS. If they can't get it they will tell you.

The new marine captain isn't even for "sale". GW is giving them away if you spend $100 (or whatever your equivalent is) through their web store. Hence the "web" part of the exclusivity.

I was already going to put in an order, so I just got one more thing to put it up to $100. Go me.

They can't actually orde Finecast products from GW anymore. At least that's what a store owner around here said to me.

I'm talking about items like, Marneus Calgar and honor guard, and the Firebase support cadre are web store exclusive according to the GW website.

Exclusive to me means only available in the webstore.

My concern is that GW is going to limit what my local store can bring in. Ultimately making him go out of business.

Something must have changed REALLY recently then because two months ago my FLGS ordered Noise Marine upgrade parts for one of the guys and got them. I do know that direct only stuff has a smaller discount (around 70-75% of shelf price versus the 60-65% they pay normally) so that might have to do with it, or it might have to do with what level your FLGS is partnered with GW (which is based on how much stuff they carry from a list of things GW feels needs to be carried to qualify for different levels of partnership).

At my flgs the owner said he can order anything for me apparently but he gets no discount on the stuff but it saves me the shipping costs.

Go look at the shipping costs in canada I am not sure about other places though.
Shipping is free over 80......okay cool that's good but what if I just want a single lord or hero model? It's $26 flat rate for shipping under that price....what?

Also check out the fast delivery method, spend under 80 it costs $32
Spend between 80 and 120 dollars it's $36
Spend over 120 it's $40

Should they not give you a discount on the shipping if you buy MORE products from them and get fast shipping? Give a better deal? Just saying

Every single skaven lord or hero is direct only other than the screaming bell which doesn't really count. That bush league.

If you do the math:
45% of fantasy is now direct only
44% of 40k is now direct only
60% of the hobbit and Lotr range is direct only.

They never really gave the flgs owners a large discount for the fine cast models (maybe 10% off) so I don't really see flgs going out of business though.

I just got back from my FLGS, and I spoke with the owner about it and he's not sure yet how it's going to effect him.

But he stated he can't order what is web exclusive yet. He's been told by the GW rep that if the products sell well on the webstore, then they may make it available to the retailers.

well, I have a pending order of scorpions and banshee for month at total wargamer ... I believe now I can just try to figure out some models to change my order. Pretty sad about it.

Well, to be honest I think they're sending those particular fast delivery orders directly through couriers like UPS or DHL that set up pretty high prices on the space taken up by the cargo in their vans, which makes it simply impossible for GW to give you any discount because then they'd be at loss. At least that's how courier companies work in Poland when carrying packages that get priced not by weight but by the size of the box to make sure that they squeeze enough money out of bigger packages that take up more space.
