As the title says, this is just a bunch of Salamanders stuff I've been working on. To some extent, all of the mini's below have been somewhat of a learning curve for me. Weather, Blue Armour and tanks were pretty much alien to me before this, as I've never had the time nor money to expand my collection before now. There's more to come, but seeing as I've not posted my work for a while, I thought I'd stick some of it up. As always, C&C is much appreciated, it's great for guiding me in a better direction. So first things first then:
Ignis Gladii - The Fire Swords:
These guys were a little flash of inspiration I had - I thought, instead of buying a box of assault marines for £20, for a little extra work filing off icons, why not get the Death Company box and all the cool gubbins that comes with it? Hence, this squad is armed like a standard Assault Squad, but
IMHO the aesthetics are way better than the standard set

I have to apologise for the grainy images, I've switched cameras and the light wasn't the best, so the initial results weren't great.
The Sergeant, Kleitus Tor'shol (Bonus cookies for guessing where I got that name!) was great fun to make, utilising the
DC hand flamers to make a Pyroclast-esque flame gauntlet (This was before the actual
FW Pyroclast's were released). I don't game, and have no plan to, but I like to keep a fluffy and game-legal force, so the gauntlet would just count as a standard power fist.
Nocturne's Wrath:
Onto the next item then - my first ever tank! Having grown sick of painting power armour, I decided to give something bigger a go. So, surfing eBay I found myself a primed, but unpainted Space Wolves Rhino. removing insignia, I set about Salamander-ing it up. Also, this is my first attempt at weathering anything, so C&C would be appreciated in that area. Anyway, onto the imgaes:
I'm quite a fan of Nick Kyme's work expanding the salamander's fluff, so I got myself his latest entry into the
HH series - Vulkan Lives. Content aside (Well worth a read though!), I can't help but be stunned by the books cover artwork - so I resolved to replicate it as a devotional fresco on the rear ramp. I'm kinda thrilled at how it turned out, so I'll definitely been looking to do something like this again. Maybe I'll take a look at Promethean Sun...
Epistolary Cinis Sac'erdos
Finally, my third piece of work recently and to date, only my 25th painted model - ever! (Yeah, I work rather slowly :(). Again, searching Ebay, I've realised that the Dark Vengeance Librarian Turmiel crops up rather alot. Having no Librarian in my force (and having never painted blue before) I decide that this would be a prime opportunity to expand my repertoire of painting techniques (The blue), on a rather inexpensive model. Needless to say, it was always going to need to be converted to a more Salamanders specific scheme - I just hope I've pulled it off well enough. Once again, bonus points for deciphering the name

:
I thought I'd put that last image in just for a better view of the face. I try to avoid faces as I'm not great at painting and my faces often end up badly. It's even worse considering they're Salamanders so I can't find any tutorials for how to paint them properly!
So there we are - hope you enjoy them and, if you want, please leave some feedback - positive or otherwise, I'm good for all
