Subject: Warhammer 40K Video Bat Rep #223 Blood Angels vs Tau
I like the idea he was going for with the guard models. But he was still using them as tau. It would have been cool if he actually had allied some guard in. He was just basically using them as proxies. Great looking army never the less.

I thought you couldn't actually take Guard as allies if you're Tau?

Not for long. The polar bears are riding the melting glaciers south in search of penguin-steaks.

'You can try to avoid line of sight, but they ignore line of sight"
THIS is what makes me facepalm every time tau-hate shows up.
People just have NO clue how they work. ignoring line of sight with tau only happens in 3 ways:
SMS-a pretty decent gun you got on broadsides and tanks, but its just S5AP5 sprayer, not a real fearsome.
Seekers-need a markerlight each, and the markerlight does not ignore LOS to begin with.
AFP-a special issue weapon nobody ever picks because its just a short-range anti-infantry large blast.
can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.

But SMS are more than adequate to pop rhinos/razorbacks, especially when said SMS are twin-linked and tank-hunting. Since Jason's razors were in range, and were primary to his battle plan, I think that his inability to truly hide was a pretty fair thing for him to worry about. It took an awful lot of luck for him to avoid losing all his armor in the first two turns.

They've always had it... It part of what makes a Marine. Tau have access to the Stubborn bubble via the Ethereal which in many ways is better due to their style of play. Anyways I have no problem with SMS... It's one of the good things Tau get and people shouldn't complain about it.
