So, I have a solid gunline behind the ADL, and a mob of conscripts running towards to enemy with fearless, reroll hits(melee), reroll save (melee), with some smashing priests
The gunline has the two primaris with divination to hand out magic to whoever he chooses between the tank squadrons or the squads around him.
I have all Cadian/Inquisition models for my guardsmen at this point, but was thinking that if this conscript mob can do something, I might pick up some Sovi-I mean Valhallans to be the morons running forward in the face of adversity.
Fire Barrels are on the tanks so the first time they are assaulted, the unit assault takes 3d6 S4 AP5 hits randomly allocated. The hope is to deter people from even thinking about assaulting them. If meltaguns dropping down are an issue, the ADL can be assigned to the tanks for cover and the men fend for themselves.
