I'm building up a list with either tau or SM as the primary for a tournament this June and I'm wondering how I can make it competitive.
I appreciate that its not the best combo of forces in comparison to deamons/chaos, tau/eldar, elder/dark elder etc. but they do compliment each other pretty nicely.
I'm a huge fan of forge world and love to run as much of it as possible. mainly because it just looks awesome but also for that little element of surprise.(some people don't expect it or won't be familiar so will either prioritise it as a threat due to being unfamiliar OR won't quite know how to deal with it in the first instance.)

now, don't get me wrong I enjoy winning my games just as much as the next gamer, but I don't feel good about myself if I take a copy n paste list from the net. It just morally wrong, dirty and boring( for your opponent.)

Last weekend I ran SM primary, Tau allies combo and it did okay with 2/3 wins - (The loss was getting tabled by alpha strike drop pod Wolfs.) It had a few FW units on the board -Sicaran legion tank, fire raptor and a mortis contemptor with kheres pattern assault cannons and they did good!I had a lot of fun with them and they really tore metal!

I'd love to keep ruining that list because it has everything i love in it, but unfortunately i have to be reasonable and admit that I don't want to lose. It's not the worst thing, especially when the game has been killer and really tight, but getting tabled is totally demoralising and no one wants that, so how can I run a list that is going to play well?

I've written a couple of lists that id like to share with the public and see what they think and hopefully can share their experiences with particular units - what works well and what compliments what in a SM/ Tau army?
