Hi guys, here's the finished pictures of a recent commission for the Cygnar Back 13th Gun Mage Strike Team.
The client's brief was to keep them similar to the stock photo on the privateer press website.

I'm always looking to improve my technique so any constructive advice or critique would be appreciated. Let me know what you think.

If you like what you see and would be interested in commissioning me to paint for you feel free to PM me or email me at bigdogminiatures@hotmail.co.uk

My other work is desplayed at my website Big Dog Miniatures and Facebook page which can be accessed from the links in my signature.

Your client will be stoked I bet! I really like what you did there, especially since those minis are so tiny compared to "regular" 28mm.

Yeah, he was pretty pleased. I like making nice toys for people to play with

I hadn't realised just how small they were til they arrived. Went a bit cross-eyed doing all the little details. Gorgeous minis though

God how I hated painted those models.

Really, I loved painting these. The detail is just incredible. Getting the light refraction look on the lenses of the goggles took a bit of work though.

I've always been impressed by the PP studio painters but the level of detail they achieved on the stock photo has just blown me away when I see the size of these minis.

Thanks for the kind words guys.

I did them for a friend and I just kept hating how they turned out. I wound up stripping and repainting them 3 times...

You did them justice.

They look great mate.

I cant afford commissions and I am in this hobby for painting way before gaming even if I am not that good at painting yet but if I was in the market for a commission I would hire you. Sorry I know that doesn't pay the bills.

Thanks Carlos13th, thats a huge compliment.

They didn't rank so well over a Cool.Mini Or Not only 5.2 to 5.6 for the individual shots :( never mind, I'll just have to try harder next time.

How do you know you can't afford me if you don't ask for a quote? I work a regular full time job so my commissions business is a sideline I make a little pocket money on to feed my own hobby addiction. I'm no Golden Demon winner and I don't make megabucks at it. My prices are quite reasonable (I think) and I tend to take smaller jobs (usually a unit or two at a time) so I can turn things around for clients in a reasonable time.

If the commission particularly interests me, I have been known to discount just for the opportunity to do it. Not great business sense but this is a hobby for me as much as a business and I like to enjoy what I do.

If you're interested in a quote at least drop me an email at bigdogminiatures@hotmail.co.uk you might be pleasantly surprised

Because I just had to cancel my $20 deadzone pledge due to lack of funds.

Even if you work for less than minimum wage I couldn't afford it.

Best of luck to you though.

Jeez thats really harsh, I'm sorry to hear that mate.
Been through a few tight times myself recently, so for whatever it's worth, I really hope things get easier for you soon.

Carlos 13th, do me a favour, drop me an email. I've got a proposition for you but its probably best discussed privately
