I've just got my grubby hands on an imperial knight and wanted to build a mildy competitive/fun inquisitorial list around them, so here goes:

Fortifications - Aegis defence line w/quad gun

The idea behind this list is to put al the henchman, bar the DCA unit behind bolstered cover / ADL to give a 3+ cover. Then use divination on Coteaz to give the monkeys prescience. The ordo xenos will join the combat unit in the Crusader, giving prescience to either the combat unit or Imperial knight. The techmarine will be used to man the quad gun for AA.

A few things,

1) aegis is only ever a 4+ cover unless the unit behind it has stealth and/or shrouded.

2) if xenos psyker is in LRC he can onyl cast powers on the unit inside, or the LRC itself.

Other then that looks good! Just remember monkeys and psykers have crappy LD and losing 2 will result in a Ld check in addition to any PotW.

Lastly if you have any spare points, give the xenos inquisitor rad grenades for the -1 T which you need being only S4 on the charge, also for weapons i suggest swords and mauls, for the chance to ID IC with the help of rad grenades.

Ah, thanks for that - I hadn't read the techmarine bolster properly - only ruins apparently!

Your point about rad grenades is good, it would be nice to have a double FOC to run 2 inquisitors with that unit to bring x2 hammerhands with the force weapons + rad grenades...

I think I'll drop the techmarine, although I'm concerned about my lack of Anti-air (I really don't want to run Storm ravens or psyflemen) Any better options?

Well, you could run allies, and don't forget you CAN run an extra inquisitor from codex inquisition it will not take an allied FOC slot just like the knight. If you chose to run allies take space marines, a 5 man scout squad with snipe rifles (they are ok at trying to ground FMC so monkeys can finish them off) and take a librarian HQ and a stalker heavy, its 70pts and is basicly a better quad gun, or a hunter which when prescience is cast on it has a 99.9% chance of killing any flyer/tank it shoots.

Hmmm, I feel that takes away from the fluff a bit and starts to get a bit cheesy.

I think I might invest in the Inquisition for an extra inquisitor - perhaps even an Ordo Malleus, psycannon, hammer an psyker to give the back of the field a bit of a boost...

To be honest it's super tempting to just run 2 units of the close combat with 2 crusaders... I do love those units... Although I'd struggle a bit with heavy tank and flyer lists..
