The Idea is to mount psychological pressure by getting in his face on turn 2 while the lootas are largely ignored for the first 2 turns because of the Trukk Assault breathing down their neck.

With what feels like 90% of Tau weaponary ignoring cover, that KFF seems like a lot of points for this.

Also with fire warriors having a 36" STR 5 gun, trukks are going to be popped quickly. Thankfully, if I know a tau player, their will be minimal fire warriors.

Where you will be successful is splitting his fire. Be very aggresive with the lootas and while they might be sacrificed, it will get the boys there.

Charging Tau is a fine art form to avoid their awful overwatch ability. You have two options - Use on sacrifical squad to eat all the fire, or use the trukk to block line of sight to the squad. This tactic is explained INCREDIBLY well at Frontline gaming, but to boil it down, involves RAW and focus fire to great effect.
