Whats up guys, I'm working on modifying my old IG army into the newest edition. My semi-fluffy Steel Legion army has been the mainstay of my Guard.
With that in mind I wanted to make a list that followed, to some degree, how the Steel Legion operated without sacrificing tabletop effectiveness.

HQ:
Pask- Vanquisher w/ Hull Las Cannon
Eradicator w/ 3 Heavy Bolters
Eradicator w/ 3 Heavy Bolters

Troop:
Veteran Squad w/ 2 Plasma Guns, Chimera
Veteran Squad w/ 2 Plasma Guns, Chimera
Veteran Squad w/ 2 Plasma Guns, Chimera

Platoon Cmd Squad
Infantry Squad w/ Melta Gun and Auto Cannon
Infantry Squad w/ Melta Gun and Auto Cannon
Infantry Squad w/ Melta Gun and Auto Cannon
SWS w/ 2 Plasma Guns and Flamer (Grenade Launcher?)
SWS w/ 2 Plasma Guns and Flamer (Grenade Launcher?)

Heavy Support:
Hydra Flak Battery

Fortification:
Aegis Defense Line w/ Quad Gun

Total Scoring Unit Count: 9

Basic theory is to be flexible to game types. Objective based games use the Infantry Platoon to hold back field objectives with ADL and Hydra providing support while Pask and Vets push for mid field objectives.
Kill based objectives, combine squads and screen Pask and Vets for cover save and bubblewrap from Deep Strike shenanigans.

I think you could drop the SWSs and third IS in favor of adding a second Platoon consisting of PCS and 2 ISs. I suggest this in the interest of expanding your ability to issue orders without having to field a CCS. Right now you are relying on Pask for your main anti-tank, plus some Meltaguns, but he will be a prime target as your Warlord and strongest AT. You could consider putting anti-tank HWTs, like Lascannons or Missile Launchers, into those squads instead of Autocannons with the goal of using Split Fire to shoot tanks and infantry at the same time. For longevity I'd stick the PCSs into Chimera, or at least give them the Autocannons to be helpful.

This is just spitballing without doing the math, but I hope it is helpful.

That actually sounds like a pretty solid idea. The SWS were point fillers for the most part...i have a few missile launchers laying around and the new orders do change up the game a bit. I also considered using Camo Netting on the Russ sqn but 45 points for +1 to Cover Save is a major tossup... Adding Chimeras to the PCS will be too expensive at this points level unfortunately...but giving two PCS to shoot at will help alleviate the chance of losing all orders early on. Thanks for the second opinion!

I could also just drop the Melta Guns from the two squads to arm the PCS with Two melta guns or a Plasma gun each.
