Am i correct in saying his 50mm base would mean he has to sit to the side of the front rank of a skirmishing unit of 20mm bases? I figure skirmishing makes no difference in mixing base sizes? Also would he still get LOS?

Incorporeal is a terrible idea. 60 bloody points for less protection than you get in a unit of skirmishing skinks.

A slann in 6-10 units of skink skirmishers is practically invulnerable. They just double-flee any charges, and essentially auto-rally next turn on cold-blooded LD10 rerollable. You're better off just ignoring him and killing everything else.
