So with FAQs not existing ATM what is the stance on rule changes they put in place?

Example in dark angels the option to take a 5 man ravenwing command squad was added.

Can I take or not take this option anymore?

I still plan to take 5 in my command squads.

Ask your local scene/tournament/etc..

But most likely any existing FAQs will remain valid for a while.

The GW FAQs are mirrored here: http://www.teambelgium.eu/?p=5769

GW has already stated they forgot them, they are still valid, and they will be adding them back to the sight "soon"

@Kel as you know, statements by GW cust service can't be relied upon.

@Boniface: The only thing you can do is decide with your local group. HIWIPI: FAQs that existed prior to the site redesign are in force. It's the only way that leads to the least amount of disruption.

That is why I quoted Soon.

The same email went out to everyone that questioned the FAQ removal, you can find it on most forums that discuss 40k rules and/or News and rumors, The copied email all says the same things and are posted by different users(Even different users when posters from other sites also post on those sites). This is a Customer Service reply that can be trusted more than most, a friend of mine and Myself both called with the exact same answers(talking to different people at the same time), The problem with rules queries is that you will often get different answers to the same question, this is not that, nor even a rules query; it is a unified statement about the website.

And as of Saturday they said that the current delay has to do with them being updated.

Apparently they don't answer rules questions anymore though according to one person who tried so that's not an issue anymore (in theory).

Runnin up on ya.

If you all really need FAQs and errata, just ask me and I'll make arbitrary, somewhat whimsical, judgements and interpretations for you.

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

I like this idea, I vote for Agnosto as lead arbitrator.

Turns out that my decision to re-download all the FAQs a couple of weeks ago was a good one. I'll continue using them and will be bringing them all to any games I go to.

My suggestion is to always keep a copy of the latest FAQs for your armies and the rulebook.

If someone I play against refuses to use the FAQs, then I doubt I'll want to play them as not having them would break the game. Not in the least because my iPad editions would be significantly different to their print editions.

Your printed FAQs will never hold a candle to my arbitrary, and somewhat whimsical, interpretations.

I honestly am super excited to see what the new FAQs do when they come out. Hopefully it will solve a lot of problems(like FINALLY take care of the infiltrators question)

Still I am going to treat it as if they were never gone

I'm not holding my breath or anything but I'd really like an answer to the multiple relic swap debate. Its a question posed by 90% of the 6th edition codices and has been around since the 1st 6th edition codex was printed.

We printed out copies of the FAQs shortly before they went off the site. (Sheer coincidence.) We're going to continue to use those either A) until every book they represent is no longer valid, or B) new FAQs are issued.

The issue is if we ignore what has already be done through the most current FAQ's (Which will be updated soon) Then we as a whole open up the door for some extremely broken games, and people arguing over rules that GW has already had a say on.

I say Reecius and the gang should just take over like how they started with the BAO FAQ. Way better rulings and they cover everything.
