I did a search, but it never seems intuitive when multiple words are there. My search-fu is just bad.

When you activate smash you double your strength for that attack. Poison: when the attacking creature's Strength is equal or better you reroll failed wounds(or auto wounds 4+ yadda yadda). Does smash work with poison. EXP: Trygon Tim doesn't like Wraightknight Bob. If Tim is smashing so he can successfully wound Bob and he rolls a one, does he get to reroll. Poison(to my perception and rereading) does not say unmodified strength.

Because I can see someone arguing a smash attack isn't affected by Poison. Just curious what the general consensus is and I'm understand the combination right.

smash is not a special attack.

It just modifies the attacks you have.

A special attack would be somthing like HoW or the tyranid tail biomorph which is not affected by poison.
