So now that i pretty much have what i want for my Eldar army set up I've decided to start on a second army my necrons.
I have purchased the starter box and one necron overlord just to have an HQ unit since the box doesnt come with one.
However I honestly don't know much about the crons, i have read the codex, i like the unit but im not sure how they click
together. Im looking to make a Super Competitive list with my crons since i don't plan on buying a lot of models for them,
i want the ones it do buy to win often. Any suggestion on unit types and tactics will be greatly appreciated so far I have
Necron Overlord
20 Necron Warriors
5 Immortals (which canbe built as 5 Deathmarks)
5 Canoptek Scarab Swarms
Ghost Ark
That takes me to around 750 points or so im looking to make a strong 1850 list so any help at all would be wonderful.

You'll probably need more troop choices.
If you are lokoing for competitive choices, general consensus is that these are the most effective:
HQ - Destroyer Lord (has and gives the unit he's attached to Preferred Enemy everything)
Crypteks - they bring alot of cool techno-sorcery
FA - Canoptek Wraiths (excellent at Close Combat)
HS - Annihilation Barges (highly-points efficient heavy support choice)
Dedicated Transport - Night Scythes (its nice to be able to fly your troops in and put them anywhere you like on tho board with no scatter...also comes with a killer tesla weapon, plus if the thing is destroyed, your troops inside are not)
Definitely give these models a look. Give their codex entry a glance, and see if you like.
Since you're $$$-conscious, try to stay away from the following units as they are the less useful ones (unless of course you really like the models):
Lychguard
Triarch Praetorians
Flayed Ones
Good Luck!

Well, I'd opt for 1 DLord, 2x6 Wraiths, 3 Annihilation Barges, and 3 Night Scythes (with mounted Immortals and Warriors).
For larger impact and durability, I usually take 10 men units of Immortals and Warriors instead of the MSU approach.

1 or 2 Night Scythes w 5 War each to drop on objectives turn 5 is fairly good. I usually out a Cryptek w/ Volatic staff w each warr group as they have 4 str 5 haywire attacks for 25 pts.
