A guy I've been playing lately runs the following, claiming its "strong but not WAAC nonsense"
~Wave Serpent x3
~Wraithguard x5, D Scythes
~Guardian Squad x2
~Dark Reapers
~Farseer (buffs the reapers)
~Wraithknight
~Fire Prism
~Crimson Something (Flier)
When I played it, I actually did ok using Orks with a few Daemons, so I'm inclined to believe him. Now I'm looking to make a daemons list to face it (for serious Orks are in retirement now until the new book, they did awful and the daemons picked up the slack), and I don't want to risk overmatching that list because I'm running heavy spam, albeit what I call justified spam because of the army theme. The list will be something along these lines, depending on points;
~Bloodthirster
~Khorne Heralds (lead dog packs)
~60x Flesh Hounds
~smattering of gakky bloodletters
~3x Flying daemon princes of Khorne
So I'd be spamming one of the best daemon units, the dogs, and by far the worst flying MC, the khorne princes. In exchange I'm mono-ing what is easily the crappiest of the chaos gods, giving up all psykers and shooting and crazy good flying circus stuff.
Potentially I'd add CSM allies too. Cultists because bloodletters are terrible scoring, Khornate Possessed in a Land Raider using Crimson Slaughter for the lolz, Khorne Bikers with a Biker lord using the "become insanely tough" relic, khornate spawn, and maybe some oblits because got no guns whatsoever in the list. Plus the mayhem pack of course, and maybe even the helcult because seriously I got terrible scoring without using the good daemon troops.
So given the state of the game at the moment, I have to ask, is this a fair matchup? Or am I being a spammaster WAAC donkey-cave despite the limitations and theme?
