Hello Everyone so with the dawn of the new codex I am trying to build my Competitive 1,000 point armored company force, for an old grudge match against a friend, and I can not decide between two different lists. Please help me decide which to run, which is more competitive, and any changes you would make. P.S. He owns every army except sisters and blood angels so it needs to be an all comers list.

First List: 1,000pts

H.Q.
Tank Commander- Vanquisher, Lascannon, Multi-Melta Sponsons, Recovery Gear
Tank H.Q. Squad- (2) Leman Russ Exterminators with Lascannon, and multi-melta sponsons

Troops:
(2) Veteran Squad- Meltagun (2), Plasma Gun (1), Chimera, Heavy Flamer

Heavy Support:
(1) Wyvren Battery (1)- Enclosed Crew Compartment

Second List: 995 points

H.Q.
Tank Commander- Pask, Punisher, Heavy Bolter Sponsons, Fire Barrels
Tank H.Q. Squad- (1) Leman Russ Exterminator with Lascannon, Multi-Melta sponsons
Primaris Pskyer

Troops
(2) Veteran Squad- Heavy Flamer, Flamer (2)

Heavy Support:
(2) Leman Russ Executioner- Lascannon, Plasma Cannon Sponsons

Thank you again for all your help!

From what I have read and heard the wevryn is an incredibly time consuming and difficult to keep track of unit and for the time scale of a 1000 point game it sounds hardly worth the hassle but personally I have never used it so I can't give any first hand accounts. I would think the points would be better used for a heavy weapons squad and any upgrades etc you can squeeze out of your units or more armour
