Hello All!
I am starting a 3000 point Warriors Of Chaos Army. I must formulate my army list as soon as possible, so I can order some paints and things. My main problem is what special and rare units to add to this army.


This is my 3000 point army so far. Please leave suggestions, I would like some help with special and rare units that could work well with this.

I was maybe thinking of getting rid of one of my hero's
Also which units should I put my hero's in?
I was also thinking of changing one unit of 18 warriors with mark of khorne and halberds to just shields and the Mark of Tzeentch, so i have two different units. Let me know what you think as it will determine the colour scheme I will be doing regarding paints.

18 Chaos Warriors + Mark Of Khorne = 2 Points per Model + Shields = 1 Point Per Model + Halberds = 3 Points Per Model + Banner Of Swiftness = 15 Points + Full Command = 30 Points
Total = 405 Points

18 Chaos Warriors + Mark Of Khorne = 2 Points per Model + Shields = 1 Point Per Model + Halberds = 3 Points Per Model + Full Command = 30 Points
Total = 390 Points

10 Chaos Warhounds + Vanguard = 2 Points Per Model
Total = 80 Points
TOTAL CORE UNITS = 880 Points

Special and Rare are left

I was thinking of putting a Chaos Warshrine because i've got a daemon prince
10 chaos knights
1 chimera to protect the knights on the flank
3 Dragon Ogres to also protect the flank
3 SkullCushers
1 Hellcanon

That's an option

There is also Chosen, a good heavy unit, Dragon Ogre Shaggoth.
So yeah, i'd like to hear everyones opinions.

Few things before I touch the army...

#1 - Wrong sub-forum... this should be in WHFB Army Lists.

#2 - Dont post point values for specific upgrades, just the total point value of the unit as a whole. This Forum isn't intended as a substitute for army-books and such, and GW can be funny about it.

No stress though, common mistakes for new users to make, onto the list.

The Daemon Prince has Soul Feeder listed twice. Also I would advise against Glittering Scales. Most things are going to be hitting him on 5's at best considering the MoN and his already high WS. Chaos Armour, Scaled Skin and Charmed Shield is a fairly popular defensive build. At 3000 points you definately need more than a lvl 2 sorceror as well, so I would suggest at least 3 Magic levels on the DP.

Currently Festus doesn't have a unit to join. He can't join either Warrior unit because he has a different mark to them and there is no other infantry.

I'd opt for an Exalted BSB over Wulfrik, but if you particularly like him as a character then keep him.

Warhounds are best used as mobile screens and redirectors, so take two units of 5 rather than one of 10.

The rest of what you have is all useful. Skullcrushers are currently probably the best Monstrous Cav in the game along with Mournfang, Chimera's are great and Knights can be reasonably versatile due to their wargear/mark choices.

You are off to a good start though!
