the army book says that d3 infantry units from the "army" gain the infiltrate rule, does this work for battle brothers or just fpr models from the chaos marines book?

C:CSM ''Nominate up to D3 Infantry units in your army before deployment. Those units gain the Infiltrate special rule''
Suggests any models in your army - allied detachments are part of your army.
The only rule I can see that would affect this is the Allies section on p112 of the BRB (well, mini one) which states:
''Battle Brothers ... Are counted as being friendly units for the targeting of psychic powers, abilities and so on.''
while Allies of Convenience and Desperate Allies do not have this statement

The special rule makes no reference to "Friendly units" as a requirement, so even the Enemy units in your army that are Allies of Convenience and Desperate Allies are still Units in your army and Eligible.

I also think it means ANY infantry unit in the army. So if you want to Infiltrate your 50man AstraM blob, HECK YEAH! Just remember if you go first, they can't assault, which may or may not matter depending on what you want to Infiltrate. They could Outflank too, that's a nice possibility as well.
If they somehow make Warlord Traits not available at all to anyone short of Battle Brothers, or not even available to affect Battle Brothers, then that won't work. But I think they'll leave that in place at least for Battle Bros. That just makes sense. Perhaps the joining of squads however, that they might get rid of even for friendly units. But I digress......

True, however, Allies of Convenience (and thus Desperate Allies as well), specifically state that they cannot benefit from the Warlord Trait.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

For Warlord traits, yes; I didn't quite realize we were talking about a warlord trait, I assumed it was a Special rule from a character.

Fair enough. You are correct, however, that if it was just a special rule it would work.

could you target Jump Infantry with it?
I get confused sometimes with the Sub-Classes of Infantry

Yes, Jump Infantry and Jet Infantry are still Infantry, so without an explicit denial (such as that found for embarking in transports on BRB page 78) you can use Master of Deception with them.

They are explicitly infantry; just Infantry with some more options.
