Hi everyone,
Being new to warhammer i have no idea about how much DE cost in previous editions.
My main issue with starting a DE army, is the cost of Witch Elves(70 cad) and Executioners(60 cad).
So, where they priced like that all the time or its just 6th ed, and what to expect will the price fall?
Thanks in advance,
Zavel

Do you mean cash price or points price?
If you mean cash, no, the price is highly unlikely to go down.
If you mean points, generally, points cost decrease when new codices are released.

Well, DE have really coll models, maybe the best in the game along with skaven and WoC. For some reason they are too expensive. Unfortunately old models are not much cheaper, despite the fact they aren't so nice, and some of them are even ugly. But whoever sells used DE modles will tell you that they are OOP and they have "collective" value, so they won't lower the price. I once managed to buy about 60 models and 2 mounted characters for 50 euros, but this happens once in a lifetime.

prices (money) always go up. never down.
GW plastics have a better constant (increasing) value than gold.

Yeah, don't wait for the prices to fall. For the very same reason you should never wait for the Atlantic to freeze over, so you can walk to Greenland (or wherever). Just get a plane.
In this instance, getting a plane would be buying from eBay, the Dakka swap shop, or one of the many discount independent retailers of GW products (many of which are advertised in the top right hand corner of Dakka). You'll be able to find models cheaper in all those places.
Alternatively, it depends whether or not you play at a GW, but if it's witch elves you're after, there's some good alternative models around which (see what I did there?) are usually significantly cheaper . Check out Avatar of War's Witch Elves for example.

Actually, executioneers and witch elves were cheaper, when reboxed in 5 man boxes, even cheaper before when they were sold in 10 man boxes (2/3 of current plastic price). This is an artifact of GW policy.
If you are not forced to use GW models, currently Avatars of War Witches and Spearmen are best value and best sculpt.
Within 1-2 years, Raging Heroes will also make a range of metal Dark Elves cheaper than GW.

On the plus side, the constant price increases encourage people to buy now and keep them or sell them when they go up again. It's like a stock market. Of course its a bubble, and when it bursts GW goes bankrupt and we can all celebrate the new management. I doubt a brand like Warhammer is going to disappear.
