It's the same price as a stubber, has 60% of the shots, shorter range and one less AP value, still meaning it barely passes for definitive. What's good about a storm bolter on a guard tank?

His point is that the stubber is basically always better for the same cost. There's no reason, unless you have models from 3rd edition that have a storm bolter but no stubber, and you have no extra stubbers to convert them.

I remember someone mentioned that the older Guard tank models had storm bolters on them, and that its mainly for the people who use them.

The strange part is that the two do identical damage to GEq, the Ap5 doing as much as the extra shot.
I'd say that they look cooler, but...

This is almost why I have storm bolters on a couple of tanks. They've been on there since 3rd and I just don't care enough to go to the effort of replacing them.
