I love working on themed armies and I've had a real love for ForgeWorld Tau for a long while.
I've recently aquired a bunch of Tau and Kroot and was looking through what ForgeWorld stuff I could aquire to make a FW heavy army.

While ready the IA rules I saw that Great Knarlocs were now Monstrous creatures and it got me thinking. After digging into Knarloc riders I'm even more interested.

I'm thinking of making a Kroot heavy force and allying in something else (might keep a bit of Tau for competitive stuff but for Fluff i'd probably drop them.)
My main ideas are either Dark Eldar or Eldar.

Eldar are sticking out more prominently; using an exodite ideas living in the same area as the Kroot herd.

So the army will be something like this..

Kroot Carnivores
Kroot Shapers
Kroot Hounds
Krootox

Knarloc Riders
Great Gnarlocs

I'll use all kroot models for the basic stuff.
For FW, I'm torn between official models or conversions. The new Carnosaur kit could easily have Kroot modeled on top and stand in as dinosaur gnarlocs.
At the same time, the Dark Elves Cold Ones could be great Knarloc Riders with kroot on top.

What I'm wondering is what ideas do you guys have for Eldar ally conversions?
I'm thinking maybe a seer council... or at least a farseer on jetbike. using Terradons as the bikes.... not sure what I'd use for the actual Farseer and Warlock... would need some sort of stand in or conversion on top of the beast..

I REALLY want a Kroot wraithknight.
For the guns I can use a Howdah with kroot manning them. that part is easy... but i need some sort of monster (preferably tall).
doesn't have to be GW...

can i get some ideas? maybe something that fits in with the Kroot bird like stance? or something that fits the lizardmen theme if i went that way?

It was actually his version of the giant bird wraithknight that got me thinking of how to do something like that. unfortunately he mentioned that it was a random model he found. i can't find anything comparable.

Wraithknight is very large, so converting the Inquisitor scale Kroot is not an option.
Maybe start with the new Wood Elf treeman: Kroot live in the woods.
You also find some interesting Terror Bird models on ebay.

you could always strap rail guns to T-rexs and call it a day

im almost thinking of using the cold ones and carnosaurs instead of forgeworld.... still trying to find an option for a wraithknight though.

can anyone think of any massive models by a third party? some sort of dinosaur, or giant terror bird... something??

This idea of a massive Kroot/Exodite army makes me incredibly happy! I want to see how this goes.
