So i have been keeping my eye om greyknights for some time now and i have seen that they have fallen off the face of the earth in our local meta. All i see now is tau and deamons and assuming alot of ig to come. So here we go.

My plan is to throw the knights and mords squad forward and have the psybacks and the dread back them up. The 3 acolytes are small body bags for cotez on the Icarus. And the stormraven fly around and kill whatever the quad cant.
Stormraven and cannon for antiair.

How competitive do you want it? And what models do you have?

As it stands its not bad, but vs new IG it won't have a chance, also vs eldar/tau will give you big problems.

il be able to get pretty much anything. just wondering whats the most optimal gk list for our current meta (deamons/tau/eldar/ig/gravcav/

Thats about right. i have just been looking to make the most competitive list and play with it at local tournaments. i don't like spending money on models i wont use.

Well if you want I can post it, ive only played it in 1 tournament which was pretty competitive (I borrowed the models because my own GK force is only about 2k worth of foot models).

I can remember most of the armies (it was only 2 months ago)

NOTE. Escalation and stronghold are allowed.

1) farsight bomb, including farsights bros

2) flying circus x2 (a bunch of FMC and fatey, and some soul grinders)

3) a eldar guy who brought a Rev titan and 2 serpents/DA/seer/WW

4) nid FMC spam x2 (they were buddies)

5) SM/SW drop pod list (was painted wonderfully)

6) 1 Deer council (he NEVER rolled fortune once)

And then there were some less competitive armies that were painted well, 1 was a tau gunline without marker lights (the guy playing it refused to use them and still did ok). And there were a few necron lists that were not spammy (unless 3 units of 6 wraiths count).

That's all I can remember, there were a total of 16 people (15 plus myself).

Grey knights 1750

HQ-Coteaz 100

Troops- 4 warrior acolytes in psyback -65*6= 390

Fast-stormraven with asslt cannon/MM/hurricane sponsons/psybolt ammo-255*3=765

Heavy-dreadnought TL AC *2/psyammo-140*3=420

Aegis defense line with comms-70

Total 1745

How does this list deal with CC armies such as hound rush lists or beastpacks. Hell evem grav cav could mop the floors with this since all they need to do is just multi assault the whole lot of vehicles and grenade it to death.

Could you elaborate a bit more? I fail to see how an army that will be in your deployment zone t1 and can cover the width of the board in models with ease can be stopped by this army

If you can imagine a 6x4 table (we do BRB missions) one of each, so depending on which mission means it will be easier then others, I can deploy (depending on who goes first) as far away as possible and just shoot them apart, with 6 psybacks, 3 psydreads, on turn 2 all my flyers come in (should) which is the part of my army that KILLs and psykers on the table (because there are 3 that's 12 psykout missiles which makes it impossible for Deercouncil to tank PotW) in addition to that, they will take out any flyers/FMC that make it to my deployment zone, or are holding objectives.

Moving back to the original post. I did ask for ways to improve and what i should change up in my list. I am open to better list suggestions. But i am mostly looking for a list to fit my 1850pt greyknight needs. No escalation no stronghold assault. No fw. I am ok with building a army off of what i have but am not ok with scratch building a whole knew army.
What i have is cotez a stormraven and 3 dreadknights. I would like a competitive build using some of these models. (Not all of them is needed)
Any suggestions?

Dream on how? I have seen what these lists do to a standard gunline and a mechanized one will be even worse off, its clear you are still stuck in 5th ed. Your list would massacre things back then but now days that list won't stand a chance vs most lists.

Hounds love opening cans. I've run mine in the face of eldar and tau gunlines many times to great effect. 6 psybacks is 18 TL str 6 shots, and the psyflmen put out 12 TL S8. Last game I played I had plenty of hounds survive 3 burst suits (12 TL, 12 non-TL S5), 2 BS5 broadsides (8 TL S7 8 TL S5), HBC Riptide (BS 5 rerolling 1's 12 S6), Iontide (S8 lg blast) 10 firewarriors plus ethereal (27 BS5 S5), and 4 plasma suits (4 TL S6, 4 non-TL S6). 59 S5 shots, 20 S6, 8 S7, S8 lrg blast. Considerably more than the psyback gunline. The psyflemen are a little scary because they're instagibbing dogs, but I don't think its enough to counter either of the builds he mentioned. Wave serpents make you have a very bad day too.

That's how you deal with Deer council and screamer star, plus its a lot of shooting.

The only other option that someone suggested was dropping extra acolytes and comms (keeping line) and taking an inquisitor with servo skulls, but since there wasn't much worry of scouting I didn't bother.
