Was just wondering if it was a better idea to kan my Warboss and biker nobz in favor of takin him in a battle wagon with some big shootaz on it and a reinforced ram? And if so, what are some good upgrades I can git on the trukk. ( still in a squad of nobz just on foot with him in the wagon) Automatically Appended Next Post: Realized how vague this post was just now
I'm running a fast at to build with defkoptaz, Kannons , trukks with shoota Boyz and now a battle Wagon with my boss and non
So
From A unit of 5 nobz 1 with a PK another with a WAAAGH! Banner all with Cybork bodies all with bikes and a pain boy
Warboss was the normal set up PK ,Cybork body, attack squig, bike
Current replacement squad
Same nob configuration cept they have hev armr with 2PKs and 3 big chopz and no bikes while the Warboss is now in mega armor. I know the big chopz and the extra PK usually are to much but I was trying to make my only melee unit more killy

I use a foot warboss and nobs in a battlewagon, although that's mostly because I don't have a warboss on a bike or biker nobs to use...
I happen to love Nobs, so I take a full unit of 10: four big choppas, one power klaw, one waagh banner, painboy, and cybork bodies on the whole unit, led by a pk/as/cb/bp warboss, mounted in a battlewagon with just a deffrolla and two big shootas on it.
It's a ton of points to put in a single unit - I would never take it at less than 1500 points - and it's maybe only been effective in roughly half of the games I've played with them. That said, it has never failed to absolutely demolish whatever they charge. It's not the most durable unit but it's tough enough to survive long enough to strike back in melee. And it's still cheaper points-wise than an equivalent unit of biker nobs, so, I got that going for me.
I think biker nobs are strictly better, but the foot nobs route in a battlewagon is better than putting them in a truck, I think.
Here's hoping nobs get cheaper in the new codex!

I do both!
Here's the list I run.
HQ
Warboss, pk, bp, cybork, ‘eavy, kombi-skorcha = 110
Warboss, bike, pk, bp, cybork = 140
Elite
5 Lootas = 75
Troops
7 nobs, painboy, cyborks, 1 pks, 3 kombi-skorchas, WB = 255
Battlewagon, deff rolla, 1 big shootas = 115
5 nob warbikers, painboy, 2 pks, cyborks, waaagh banner = 340
20 boyz, nob, ‘eavy, bp, pk. 2 big shootas = 175
20 boyz, nob, ‘eavy, bp, pk. 2 big shootas = 175
Heavy
Battlewagon, deff rolla, 2 big shoota = 120
Battlewagon, deff rolla, 2 big shoota = 120
Looted Wagon w/ boom gun, 2 big shootas, ‘ard case, ram = 130
Fast Attack
DakkaJet w/ 3rd Supa Shoota, fighta ace = 125
Deff kopta w/ Buzzsaw = 60
Deff kopta w/ Buzzsaw = 60
Total
2000
So that gives me 3 wagons. 2 with 20 boyz each and 1 with the boss and his boyz. The I also have the bikerboss and his nobz deploy on one side of the board to run up and flank whatever the 3 wagons are charging. But having the nobs in a battlewagon is a very powerful unit, and I really enjoyed giving them kombi-skorchas. Such a cheap upgrade that you can give every nob in the wagon.
You mentioned putting a reinforced ram on the wagon, but I would really go for the deff rolla. It's how I kill landraiders.

I've found one of the best ways to use my warboss with nobs is to split them up - put the warboss in a unit of boys and leave the nobs seperate. the nobs will still be the big distraction unit, and the opponent will try to deal with them because they're nobs and will destroy everything they love if they make it to combat. meanwhile the warboss is delivered in a bigger, fearless unit with a powerklaw that can accept challenges to keep the boss in the fight - with nobs squads the only characters would be the painboy and the warboss. something decent challenges (like a force or daemon weapon) and you're either losing the painboy in a challenge so the boss can slaughter more models or you're losing the boss to the back of the combat to save the painboy. at least with a boys powerklaw nob, you have a small chance of the opponent fluffing and you insta-splatting him with the klaw, and don't lose anything the boss does anyway, long as the boss has a bosspole.

I'm going to make a T-Shirt save Warboss sometime and have him just 2H wielding a bosspole. Put him on point with 10 Meganobz and LoS! everything and just have him there for Ld checks.

Sounds hilarious. Put him with the Mad Dok and he will be like the Dok's remote controlled warboss.

Biker boss has proven to be much more frightening than a wagon boss. Almost all the time. Besides you can use him with a squad of Koptas that give him scout and hit&run.
If i use a wagon boss - i'd take megaarmour and a bunch of regular nobz as retinue. Not much, just 3-4 with a painboy, 1 PK and nothing more. They'll stop working the moment they get too expensive. Wagonz are not that unkillable on their own.
