Help fund the production of Paul Bonner's Trolls of Trudvang, sculpted by Roberto Chaudon, in association with Riotminds.

This isn't a complicated Kickstarter! The aim is (and has always been) to fund the production of the Trolls of Trudvang for folk who are fans of Paul's work. You can pledge for either of the two trolls separately, or you can pledge for the set. The complete set is the main star of this Kickstarter and is the culmination of months of work getting everything just right! The set is a limited edition run, and will only be available as a Kickstarter exclusive! I want this to be a special product!

All parts of the set are being cast in high quality resin by one of the best casters in the business - Model Design Construction. They have a fantastic reputation for quality and reliability, and have been my casters of choice since I began JoeK Minis

The KS allows you to pledge for the KE exclusive complete set (including Scenic base), or the large or small trolls alone or together

Ooh, I like that troll. Would be great if it was available without such a large rock / diorama type base, but just as a miniature.

Any idea what the size of it is / will be?

From what was said on facebook JoeK had a very few pre-KS teaser trolls without the rest of the bits at Salute

The size is pretty huge, from his postings on WAMP he says the small figure in the diorama is 35 mm high

and the weapon against a 28mm figure (don't recognize it though)

Just seen this thread!

Actually, that figure is one of mine . It's the Dragon Huntress figure in my range.

Thanks for posting in here, JoeK! I guess just decide whether you want this thread or the one of your own creation to be the "main" thread once the campaign launches. I personally like this one and Orlando (the person who made the thread) is very good about updating for Kickstarters

What size base does the big troll fit on- can he squeeze(ish) onto a 50mm square?

Yeah, he seems to fit on fine on there I reckon

I did this size comparison with one of my other figures, to give you some idea of the scale of him...

From all the 'older' threads surfacing I guess Lego has fixed the search!

JoeK I'm happy to keep this one updated during the KS if you want ?

or to get this locked by the MODs and let you carry on with your own if you prefer

just let us know which way you want to go

which ever you choose

No problem,

glad to help out interesting projects during the KS runs

(and even if I can't afford to back them at the time hit means they're more likely to hit retail later when I might be able to)

Funny you should say that. After all the Kickstarter madness has died down that's precisely what I'm working on! It's a much longer term project and not exactly Sci Fi as you'll know it but...

It's going to be rather cool

Update #1 May 15 2014

Bless my soul!

Well, that's been a very busy first 30 minutes!

Very quick one to say 'THANK YOU' to everyone who's backed so far, and because I am the generous Troll seller that you know I am, I've just opened up an 'EARLY-BIRD (ish)' pledge level.

£60 (plus postage overseas) will bag you the set whilst it's hot hot hot!

Thanks again guys and gals.

It's rather addictive this!

Update

First Stretch Goal Unlocked (yay!)

Wow! So, we've got to £2500 and I'm chuffed to bits

Without further ado, I can unlock the first of our stretch goal targets...

The Add-ons do exactly what it says on the tin, and allows everyone to add other figures to their pledge, for discounted prices!

There are different levels of discount, depending on what you've initially pledged on, so look at that symbol by the side of pledge descriptions, and fill your boots (as I believe they say)!

Here's the big list, and this will also be on the front page if you scroll down as well!

Once again, my continued thanks for all your support, and I'm looking forward to opening up a few more stretch goals along the way!

All the best,

Joe

I've got the dragon huntress and can highly recommend picking it up if you haven't got it, fantastic piece of work

Update #4 May 16 2014

Something for the Weekend...

You might have read in my bio that I run JoeK Minis as a hobby business. And that can be a good thing! It means I pretty much always try and make miniatures that I want, as opposed to making things to pander to a wider audience. I've had great fortunate inasmuch as it would appear that my tastes seem to chime in with at least a few other people, and I've been able to make more.

The downside to this goodness is that I have a real life job, that pays the real life bills, and it just so happens that I work real life weekends!

Boooooo!

So, whilst I'll be eagerly looking in on how the KS is going on (and hopefully putting up a few comments as and when necessary!), chances are I won't be in a position to update too much during the next couple of days.

So, it makes great sense to me to put up the next two stretch goals to give us something to work with, and they're both absolutely free and nothing for you to pay extra for!

Huzzah!

On to the good stuff!

Firstly, I've had one or two queries, asking about bigger pics of the JoeK Mini add-ons! I've (rather quickly it must be said!) done a quick splash page over on my website, giving a larger snap of the painted figures, plus a smaller shot of the parts they come in, plus a little bit more detail about the figures themselves. When I get a bit more time I'll try and tidy it up a little more, but hopefully, it'll suffice for now!

LINKY HERE!

Stretch Goals!

To tide us over the weekend (one would assume, but knowing what goes on on these things, who knows?), I'm putting up the next two stretch goals for folk to muse over! As said above, these are freebies, and given away to you at no extra charge. The first one is for EVERYBODY!

There's been some talk about wanting something like this on the comments section, and I'm happy to oblige . The postcards are now for everybody who pledges, and are strictly limited for the duration of the Kickstarter. This is a direct image of the highest resolution scan of the original artwork there exists, so it works really well as a postcard! Hopefully, we'll get this one through soon!

This is one of the major stretch goals I had in mind! I always thought that some folk might want to use the little troll as a separate piece, and I asked Roberto to sculpt an alternate weapon hand, plus his own little bit of rock to...erm...perch on! And he obliged! He looks suitably angry now, I think . This addition will come with ALL pledges that have a Little Troll included at no extra charge.

Because I'm quite nice really

Here's a slightly bigger snap of him!

(Bear in mind this image was using the original sculpt, so - for obvious (and very sensible!) reasons it's not fixed down!

And I think that's everything for now!

As I say, don't fret if you I'm absent for the majority of the weekend - whilst I'd love to be around all the time to watch this thing grow, I kinda need to pay some bills too!

As ever, all the best and thanks again!
