**The Behemoth**

Just planning my Tyranids list and deciding wheather to use the deathleaper or 2 lictors. I intend to use 2 mawocs, so pheromone trail will be integral. I will also have a unit of genestealers to seport either choice. So with that in mind I was wondering which is more useful. Obviously the deathleaper is better, but does iit ustify the increased cost? Thanks in advance

Well, it's not a hard and fast either or choice like it was last edition since the Deathleaper moved slots.

Do you have to choose between one or the other?

Like Kain said, it's not really a choice between the two since they're in different slots. Deathleaper however is pretty awesome. Lictors aren't really survivable at all, but Deathleaper is pretty hard to kill. He can never ever be targeted by any form of template weapon, which is pretty crazy. Of course he's not as good as a Dakka Flyrant but what isn't. I'd say he's a good 2nd choice, and definitely the best named character in the book.

Neither if you're only taking them for Pheromone Trail, the highly unreliable benefit of it is not worth the points and HQ/Elite slot.

Either, as they are in differant slots.... There is a Deathleaper assassin Brood Formation, but it costs a Lot of points. I do like dropping D3 from a IC's leadership. I live for putting a Librarian in Shadow, with Deathleaper

Keeping Lictors alive is a challenge, but if losing your Lictors absorbs an Alpha strike....I say Totally worth it! And if they don't consume buckets of fire, then they may well live

Just try to give them the best cover save you can, and GtG.....

He will be my 2nd HQ. As far as slots are concerned, I don't care. I am only interested in cost effectiveness. While I intend to mostly use them for pheromone trail, They will also be aussalting things with the genestealers and mawlocs supporting.

seriously though Deathleaper assassin brood is great- although it does put 6 kill points on the table, just gotta table them instead !
