Hi Guys, I went to put a purchase down on some Elysian models this morning.

I noticed that the kit I wanted - the Snipers Kit - has a button saying that they're out of stock. Since it doesn't say "temporarily", I feel led to believe that the kit is completely unavailable to me through forgeworld.

Does anyone know if their "out of stock" means "we don't make these toy soldiers anymore"?

I'd really like to use elysians for my army, but It kind-of hinged on me getting those models. As in, I'm not going to bother to pay the 300 dollars it'll cost me to buy them if I'm not gonna get what I want.

FW takes stuff off the site when they don't make it anymore (see the old Dreadclaw for example), it's likely out of stock because the molds need work. If you want to clear it up just email them and they'll tell you when they go back to work on Monday.

Does that then mean I should be able to buy them again in the next month?

I have emailed them, it's just that my window of opportunity to make a purchase is limited.

"Out of stock" can mean "out of stock because it's OOP and we just sold the last one", after which the model will be removed from the website. It can also mean "out of stock because we don't have any in stock right now, try again later". Since the Elysian range is one of FW's "core" products I would seriously doubt that any of it will go OOP, which means it's most likely just a temporary delay in restocking.

Here a good question, what about the products they have on the hard copy catalog but doesn't show up at all on the website. Like the ork battle fortress

It's just so vague that I'm not comfortable to throw money at an army I won't get to complete the wa I want to.

So why not just wait until it comes back in stock if you're worried about the extremely small chance that it's OOP?

Out of stock could mean several things. Without either waiting a week or so to see if it changes, or emailing them, all we can do is guess if its temp or perm.

That's an issue. Getting permission to make a purchase online is an ordeal for me.

if thats the case I'd advise against buying those units and just going with the normal GW plastic

Generally, Forge World takes it off the site if it's OOP. If the site says Out of Stock, it more than likely means they're going to restock it. Especially since we're talking about one of their IG ranges, which is one of their most popular sellers.

If they were OOP and you were to order them, wouldn't they likely email you to tell you it's OOP and offer a refund?

But probably not the other stuff he's ordered that is not OOP. I believe he said ordering is an ordeal for him, so he probably has to bulk order his army, and he doesn't want to run the army if he can't get this specific model so the rest of his purchase would be money very badly spent. I think this is the gist of it anyway. Tough situation but just be patient and don't risk wasting your money, you will get permission to order online again especially if you never actually did it the first time. (I assume).

You make the mistake of assuming the powers that would give me such a right are reasonable.

But, otherwise, bang on for the situation.

Hmm, I guess if its your money, its not hard to go to the bank and make an account and get a visa. Might take a week of processing on their end to get everything fixed but online purchasing always is a waiting game. This opens up eBay sales and countless of other online stores for you from this point on as well, go ahead and do it man.

If your parents or whoever are the ones buying it for you, I guess you are left with two options, buy a different army, or take the risk. However slight the risk is, I probably wouldn't take it - unless I was super set on that specific army. I know there is always more than 1 army or model I'm interested at any given time, so maybe take the safe call and play the army you know you can get. Better than kicking the gak out of yourself afterwards for getting fethed on a stupid chance you unnecessarily took.

My experience has been that once its gone from the website, its no longer available. For example, I was looking to (finally) pick up an Atlas Recovery vehicle for my guard army. It was in the hardcopy catalog but missing from the website. I emailed FW, and they said it was gone and would not be returning.

So that would lead me to believe the battle fortress is gone. Of course, one could hold out hope that it becomes a new "big kit" in plastic for the next ork codex.

I'm beginning to feel that if I want something in particular, I might want to buy it now, because it might not be around forever (or maybe GW wants me to think that way )
