I've just pre ordered the Wood Elf army book and treeman model. However I really like all three of the elf model ranges/story etc and could see myself doing all three (or at least DE as well)

I was just wondering if their play styles are sufficiently different enough, or would I get bored doing more than one elf army?

I'm pretty sure there are more than one or two users on this forum who collect all 3 flavours of elves. Personally I collect High and Dark Elves and will probably purchase a copy of the new Wood Elf book for the sake of my collection.

It's hard to comment on Wood Elves, first of all I've never played them and secondly it remains to be seen how the new army book will alter them on the table. I'd assume it will bring them more into line with 8th Edition and how the mechanics of the game have evolved since their last book was written with 6th edition in mind, but I'd say they will still favour the hit and run aspect that makes them quite unique with the new book as well.

High and Dark Elves play somewhat similarly. Both have the potential to be extremely potent in just about every phase, which means you could feasibly collect each of the elven armies with a different theme or strength in mind that means your style of play would be different from army to army. Their respective model ranges are really magnificent as well, so I doubt you'd get bored in a hurry.

Warhammer is the right of all sentient nerds!

Yeah it's mainly the model ranges that are the draw for me, the vast majority of the elves models are awesome. And I think I would do different themes, DE I'd probably go monster mash, cos I love monsters
