I've gotten my Dark Angels (Disciples of Caliban successor chapter) army up to 2000 points. I'm not looking for recommendations to altering the existing army, I'm looking for opinions on how to enhance the existing army with a 500 point allied detachment. I would like to use Imperial Guard because I like keeping with a shooting focused army, and I feel that they have a lot of possibility of filling in the gaps where my army is currently lacking (heavy armor, and lack of fliers specifically) I wouldn't mind being able to field a vendetta, perhaps a chimera or two, and some ratlings with sniper rifles, but I would like to hear what other people have to say.

My current DoC list is as follows;

HQ - Terminator Librarian with command squad (1 Librarian with Terminator Armor, Force Sword, Storm Bolter, - 5 Terminators, Assault Cannon, Chain Fist, Apothecary - 370 points)

TROOP 1 - Tactical Marine Squad (1 sergeant boltgun - 1 marine with plasma gun and bolt pistol, 8 marines with boltgun and bolt pistols, all units have frag and krak grenades, Rhino - 190 points)

TROOP 2 - Tactical Marine Squad (1 sergeant with boltgun - 1 marine with Plasma Cannon and bolt pistol, 1 marine with plasma gun, 7 marines with boltgun and bolt pistols, all units have frag and krak grenades, Rhino - 205 points)

ELITE 1 - Terminator Sqaud (1 sergeant with storm bolter and power sword, 1 terminator with assault cannon and power fist, 1 terminator with storm bolter and chain fist, 2 terminators with storm bolter and power fists - 245 points)

ELITE 2 - Terminator Sqaud (1 sergeant with storm bolter and power sword, 1 terminator with assault cannon and power fist, 1 terminator with storm bolter and chain fist, 2 terminators with storm bolter and power fists - 245 points)

FAST ATTACK 1 - Bike Squad (1 Ravenwing sergeant with chainsword, and twin-linked bolt guns, 1 biker with plasma gun and twin-linked bolt guns, 2 bikers with bolt pistol and twin-linked bolt guns, 1 attack bike with multi-melta gun and twin-linked bolt guns - 177 points)

FAST ATTACK 2 - Bike Squad (1 Ravenwing sergeant with chainsword, and twin-linked bolt guns, 2 bikers with plasma gun and twin-linked bolt guns, 1 biker with bolt pistol and twin-linked bolt guns, 1 attack bike with multi-melta gun and twin-linked bolt guns - 192 points)

HEAVY 1 - Predator (1 Predator with Auto Cannon, and Heavy Bolter Sponsons - 95 points)

HEAVY 2 - Devestator Squad (1 sergeant with missle launcher, frag, krakk and flakk missiles, 2 marines with missile launchers, frag, krakk, and flakk missiles, 2 marines with plasma cannons and bolt pistols, all units have frag and krakk grenades - 175 points)

FORTIFICATION - Aegis Defense Line (1 Aegis Defense Line with Quad Cannon - 100 points)

-----

My current tactics that I generally employ are setting up the Aegis Defense Line on/near any objective my side of the table, and put the Devastator Squad, and Predator behind it. Turbo boost both the bike squads towards their heavy armor, sticking behind any available cover and hoping I can Deep Strike all 16 terminators as close to the bikes as possible if it means I can use the teleport homers to negate scatter and still get a clean shot at the side/backs of armor. Start pressing both rhinos up the field towards the opponents side of the table snap shooting plasma blasts along the way.

This is not a defending army in my opinion. I would subtract the Predator and the devastators and change the Hq to belial with some knights and crunch all while deep stiking my knights onto the opponets armor
