Also thoughts on having that cloak with black armor instead of tan?

Mephiston red and either a nuln oil or agrax earthshade wash probably.

Nah that's a carroburg wash over mephiston base, undercoats likely black.

Black armour would be too dark imo, you could do a dark grey like eshin though. Wash it with nuln oil and highlight with eshin again.

I agree. With a robe color that dark, you're going to want a brighter contrasting color or the entire model is going to look washed-out.

Maybe its just my derpy monitor, but to me that looks more reddish brown than pure red. Say Doombull brown, then washed with Agrax.

As for black armour, give it a bash I guess. Best way to find out. As others mentioned the model might be a bit too dark, but you could counter that with light coloured gasmask/pouches, bright lenses etc.

Looks like Vallejo Model Colour Burnt Cadmium Red. Think it would look fine with black plates.

Would a silver work then for the armor you think? Or would it make more sense to go black with a lighter red?

A light silver, like runefang, would work, though you'd want to wash it down and weather it a bit to make sure both parts look equally grubby.

Another option is gold - gehennas goes very well, I've just been using it alongside mephiston red today.

Well my army colors are primarily dark silver and black with red thrown in.(Inquisition army)

Maybe I could do black cloaks with silver armor. That might work and then accent with red

Why not - reds an excellent accent to black, just look at the black templar crusader models (or sword brethren, I can't remember their name)

Red usually goes well with black, but personally I don't think the browny-dark-red in the OP would go that well with black.

Do a test on something cheaper like an imperial guard model. Paint the shoulder pad black and the arm in this colour and see how they contrast with each other.

Here is how I am thinking of basing the kriegers. These are going to be my conscripts(because to hell with buying 50 kriegers to use as 3 point models)

Zenethal with a black basecoat, a dark silver circle, and then a light silver spritz from the direction of the light source.

Gonna do this then maybe give them a red coat? Thoughts?

I'm working really hard at procrastinating today, so I did this for you to see what it would look like, this is probably close to Eshin grey, maybe a bit darker.

What if I did the above black cloak with the red for the pants? and then brown or grey boots?

Here is a practice red cloak that I quickly mocked up with the prime/airbrush scheme

I am going to be restripping this guy and and then him off, I got him second hand and just did a quick prime and test

Here is orange on top of that with a ball red and sepia wash.

Why not try something like boltgun metal with agrax earthshade wash?

I am actually really happy with how the silver and black armor came out. So I am going to keep that for the main body.

Now it is just getting the red to work with the black/silver
