I went out and purchased the wonderful O-Yoroi KidoButai in response to my panO friends purchase of the Cutter. Only Im still quite new and not sure what to consider when building a list around the TAG. SO I have come to you to assist me. How should I support this omen of death and his cuddly boom buddies?

Also could someone kindly give me a run down of how to add IA lists from the infinity website.

If you hit the little arrow to the left of the folder in the top right of the army builder you will see one option is copy to clipboard (forum) (F10)

Use that and just come over here and paste.

Maybe a Hacker.

Lot of Kuang Shi but shouldn't be a problem if you position them right.

That is a pretty solid list. Busy, kind of all over the place, but with plenty of flexibility and dangerous units. You definitely have plenty of SWC left over, but I can see what you're going for. It'd be nice if you could get the Tiger Soldier an HMG to be properly dangerous. I love Boarding Shotguns, but an AD trooper with an HMG is devastating, and you see a lot of people taking them simply because of how useful they are.

If you can handle Impetuous right it wont be a problem, if not those Kuang Shi will lose you orders to throw at the O-Yoroi. As for Hackers what are you using them for? The Ninja is good for TO objective grabbing but the Celestial is better at protecting the TAG, a Shang Ji even better.

I have the Hisen MR but find him a bit expensive for what he brings, although I'd like to use him so if it works for you. I notice you had a Hac Tao in the other list, the HMG loadout is just boss every time for me.

My ten pence.

Does your group play ITS 2014 style games with the scenarios and all? If not then you probably don't need to cart along a doctor, engineer, and a hacker at the same time. And even if you are, vanilla Yu Jing has a few choices that will probably perform better for objective work since our basic docs and engies are just basic troops with a special skill and little else.

With the doctor and engineer in the same list, the main thing to watch for is that either one of them can be complete order hogs. And without a YaoZao attached, they will usually have to get in to the thick of it. The doctor can get away with hanging back and keeping your line troops standing, but the engineer will be working hard to keep up with a 6--4 MOV TAG (unless it is around to see to the remote, but I probably wouldn't waste its talents on that alone).

The other major worry is that the Hsien is a very obvious lieutenant. In fact, nothing else in the list could be a lieutenant. Everything else is carrying some kind of gear combo that precludes it or is from a unit entry that isn't eligible. This means that it is really easy to pick him out and assassinate. This is bad news.

So you'll probably want to dump the doctor or engineer and pick up a plain jane celestial guard to act as a decoy.

To give out more precise advice I'd need to know whether your group does a lot of ITS scenario play or if they just do straight firefights (or even YAMS missions). Since that can really change what kind of list is workable.

If you guys are running ITS scenarios, then you'll want to grab a few paramedic or forward observer profiles and try to aim for a good 4-6 "specialists" in the list for redundancy. If you are running normal firefights or YAMS then you will probably want to beef up on offense and use a bit more of that SWC allowance.

But the main thing to watch for is that having a doctor and engineer without any YaoZao in the same list can often overtax your order pool and you probably need to make the Hsien a much less obvious lieutenant choice to discourage assassination runs.

Other than that, not too bad for an new list.

To be fair, if he's bringing a TAG, then an engineer and decent hacker are a good idea to bring for defense of the model that's eating 1/3 of your list.

And if you've got the couple of points spare to swap a cheerleader for a doctor... why not? A cheerleader that has a chance to revive a KO'd model is better than one that can't. I find that in games that I don't bring a doctor I miss having it more than games where I have one where I've felt it was a waste of points, so I always pack one. But, you know, Haqqislam.

But again, that's just personal playstyle talking.

We cheat. We recruit all of our Ghulam and Halqa directly from Medical School on Bourak.

Even with my Tohaa, the games I haven't brought the Kumotail are the games I wish I did bring it.
